Arcana Physicist - The Magical Genius (To Be Read As Mayhem) That You've Always Dreamt of Being

Description
Mess around with the laws of the universe while dismantling your foes, like the walking fountain of chaos that you are!

== Level 0: Aethereal Dispersion ==

Some claim to be able to touch Invisible Geometries or whatever. Well, all you know is that after you force someone to make contact, no one does any more touching. Hell, you can't even identify the fingers.

== Level 1: Thaumaturgic Matter Acceleration ==

You figured out that by spinning really fast while emanating magical energy, you create a thaumaturgic field which stops when you do. Conversely, at that time, any rubble lying around starts moving at mach 5. Let's hope nobody's in the way.

Company is not liable for broken objects, bones, or people.

== Level 2: Repulsion Mantle ==

Who doesn't want quality armour? Well, anybody that's not interested in carrying 400 pounds. The solution that you came up with was to cover yourself in a very thick layer of draining, highly unstable, pure magical energy.

== Level 3: Dissonant Discharge Field ==

Apparently the world is permeated by very carefully balanced and immensely energetic Quantum Fields. You decided to throw a party and have some Quantum Field Cocktail for the guests!

== Level 4: Arcane Destabilisation ==

You learned that atoms are not indivisible and, in fact, begin to split when exposed to super concentrated thauamaturgic energy. Violently... they split violently.

== Level 5: Transcendent Mind ==

Now, with a total of 4 WEEKS OF STUDY and a lot of trial and error, you have become the pinnacle of mortal mental capacity. Just be carfeul not to overwork those precious, few neurons of yours.

@TheoWolf That's amazing! Thank you very much for sharing both the link and the news. I'm glad that the resource is not lost, and I'm very excited about the possibility of more updates. :resmile:

@TheAnarchyDice https://github.com/dredmor-com/dungeons-of-dredmor/wiki/Modding-Home Is I believe the new location of dredmor Modding resources. Some of the original game devs came back and helped put it together. There's also rumors (from those devs themselves) That a new update for the game of some sort is in the works but has been delayed due to Some legal red-tape

@Mynas-chan
The fix suggested by Radian has now been implemented. Huge shoutout to @Aethere for letting me know that I can recover the mod files by opening the published mod .dat file as an archive. Hopefully this fixes things, and that people will not encounter issues with the mod anymore.

I also discovered today that dredmod.com , an amazing resource which I used to learn about making DoD mods, is now dead. I really hope that the information hasn't been lost, though I am not sure if any backups exist. If people know of such a backup/alternate site, please post a comment.

@Mynas-chan
...no...
Frankly, I had fully forgotten about it until you brought it up now. I wanted to go ahead and fix it after so long, but I don't know how... Specifically, I seem no longer have the mod files on my machine, and can't figure out how to extract them from the .dat file of the published mod. I would like to ask @Radian how they were able to see the .xml files, because maybe I can recover them the same way, but their account is private. If they accept my friend request, I will ask them. As it stands though, I don't know how to go about getting the files so that I can implement the fix... Lesson learned about procrastinating too long on a task. :/

you implemented that fix yet

@Radian Oh wow... Thank you for figuring it out. I feel kinda bad for having abandoned this project. I never expected for people to pay any attention to it after the first little while. When I get a chance, I will implement your fix. Cheers, man! You da real MVP. :broflex:

@TheAnarchyDice The problem with Dissonant Discharge Field is that your template file is named "ManTemplate" instead of "manTemplate"
I changed the name and now it works. I don't know why that matters but apparently it does.

@Aethere I got a friend's laptop, rushed DDF and it does nothing. (before reading your comment, I though it might have to do with the fact that, on every other machine I had tested, I also had the local, development version of the mod, which I was using) I am confused.... I guess I'll see if I can redesign the skill into somethng more stable. Back to the drawing board! :crafting:
Aethere 6 Apr, 2018 @ 11:34am
Just started a new character with the same skills as my current run using the skill and beelined DDF, and it worked perfectly. What is this I don't even :berserk:

I just ran through the skill IDs for them, and it doesn't appear that there is a conflict. I'm thinking you might be right with the template suspicion.
