TO CRAFT
Open your skills menu ctrl+x > everyday skills > alchemy
A new window will open, this is where you can find recipes that you already own. Once you own a recipe, you will always be able to make it (it's not one-time use)
If you look in your status window ctrl+a > attributes, you will see what your commoner can equip. By default, commoner can use clothing. So if we go back to the crafting window, we need to select "clothing type" and then you'll see a list of clothing you can make. Mouse over items to see info, like armor level, etc
If you want to know what materials you need to make something, just click on the item you want to make. A window will open. On the right, you will see the materials needed. The numbers in blue are the quantities required and the yellow numbers represent how many qty you have in your inventory. Once you have materials, you can click the button to make the item. Success rate not 100%
This ought to be my favourite thing in this game
I recommend doing the alchemy tutorial in eversun city if you haven't yet. Talk to Working No.1 located at 229 161
There are 2 things to keep in mind when leveling alchemy. First, to level up alchemy, you simply need to craft things. Anything. You'll gain alchemy exp, and you can see your current alchemy level in the skills menu ctrl+x > everyday skills. Locate 'alchemy' and look at the level listed just underneath. That is your crafting level.
The second thing to keep in mind, is that eventually you'll hit a cap and won't gain anymore alchemy exp... To raise the cap, you need to put points into a commoner skill called "Apex of Alchemy." Lv 5 Apex is required to make level 58 items. Though a lot of people say lv 50+ armor is cheaper bought from NPC than making it, so you might be alright with Lv 4 Apex. Also, this means you'll have to level up commoner a bit so you can invest in the Apex skill.
Alchemy materials can be found anywhere, pretty easily. Some of them are drops from monsters, whilst others are farmed with your commoner skills. You'll do pretty good if you get them all to Lv 4. If you don't feel like killing monsters or afk farming, most farming mats can be found in stalls. The ones located near Ironmonger in eversun city usually specialize in such materials. The NPC dressed in blue just nearby also sells monster-drop materials :) There's another NPC like that in each city and they sell different materials.
As you've already noticed, probably, commoner doesn't have any fighting skills. You'll do alright just by poking things up to level 17 or so; afterwhich it really becomes a chore... To level this class faster, I recommend leveling up a different fighting class and then go to the Dojo in eversun city to sub the fighting skills onto commoner.
Dancer aoes is pretty fast if you just want level 20ish; and can solo.
Mercenary is a pretty good thing to sub on commoner as well, since they are always needed in a party; and so hard to find T_T
If you plan to solo commoner, then i'd recommend blademaster and witch doctor, do an attack speed build so you don't have to worry much about mana; and bring hp potions.
