Grudge's Battle Maps - Riverfort [V0.7a]

Description
Note

V0.5 is released and is very much playable. V1.0 will see proper Siege AI nodes to improve AI intelligence, and finalized visuals. Issues that will remain are the inability to destroy the Rome II Fort Walls and Towers. But that shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Please (in case you want to play a serious game; these rules also apply for the players themselves)
  • do not give the attacking Siege AI any siege equipment (siege towers, rams). Regular catapults are fine.
  • do not give defending Siege AI Bastion Catapults.

Issues left to fix:
  • The lack of Siege AI nodes may be causing some coordination issue for the attacking AI.
  • Currently, the defending Siege AI does not use the fort walls.

So do subscribe, try out the map and hit the like button if you enjoyed the map. Give all the feed back you want, and I might be able to implement it for V1.0.

If you wish to try the map, feel free to subscribe. You can find the map in custom battles. Select: "City Assault" in the Map Tab, and choose 'River Fort' from the Load Preset dropdown menu.

Introduction

This is my first proper battle map made in Ted called Riverfort. Riverfort is a 1 versus 1 battle map. (Currently experimenting with 1 vs 2)

The fort that is built on both sides of the river, provides a segmentation that may both be to your advantage or disadvantage. On both sides of the fort a control zone is placed. Unlike control points, control zones cover a larger area and are shaped alongside the fort walls. The battles that will ensue for control will be fierce and dynamic. Gain entrance in the fort and you gain the ability to try and capture the area immidiately.

By losing one control zone, the defenders can always move across the river to the other side. If the attackers are to pursue them, they will be forced to cross the current of the river at a very slow pace. But it works both ways. Become too dependent on this tactic as a defender, and you might find yourself in trouble. If the attackers outnumber you, the losses they are to suffer from crossing that river are negligible.

I sincerely hope you'll enjoy this map. Feel free to give suggestions and ideas in the discussions section of this mod.

The Fort Walls and Fort Towers are those from Rome II's Caesar in Gaul Historical battle of Alesia. Hence their lack of functionality. CA has given permission[forums.totalwar.com] to import Rome II models into Attila.
