Skaalview Stackhouse

Description
Build or buy your own mansion overlooking Skaal Village in Solstheim!

REQUIRES DRAGONBORN DLC.

The home is large and lavish by Skaal standards (hey, you deserve it, Dragonborn!), but sticks to the local architecture so it's not over the top or out of place. Consult your new steward to decorate and expand your estate. The Stackhouse contains several floors, a basement, two decked-out decks, an animal shelter, and a lookout with terrific views of the village and beyond. The main house contains multiple crafting stations, ample storage, and all the necessities of home.

In addition to the Stackhouse, commission optional developments at Fjalding Lake, including:

The lake house
Daedra shrines
Alchemist's greenhouse
Farm with a barn, a grain mill, and a working windmill
Tunnel between the houses
Geode mine
A lookout

Hire servants to guard and tend to your holdings while you're away: House guards, farmers, maid, bard, miner, and a blacksmith trainer who doubles as a merchant. Some are potential followers and marriagable.

Optional adventures are available to keep things interesting. Uncover a Riekling lair, Draugr excavation, and more. Discover Daedra shrines with new blessings. Two new ingredients are also available, along with a way to create them.

There are three new altar blessings. Be sure to learn the new Dispel Magic Cloak spell (there's a book in each house) to turn off the blessings at will.

To find the Skaalview Stackhouse construction site, travel to Skaal Village. Behind the temple you'll find a drafting table and construction manuals; approach the site and the house construction quest will start. Collect specific items to first draw your house plans, and then to build the house proper. Keep the construction guidebooks handy.

Alternately, you can hire a construction worker to build the Stackhouse by using the Worker's Horn located on the drafting table. Activate the horn and then talk to the Home Builder who will shortly arrive at the construction site.

Also read the ownership papers on the table by the front door once you can enter the house. It adds you to the various house factions.

Note about children: The main house has a separate bedroom with two children's beds and storage, but in order to move your family into it you'll need a separate mod. I use "Custom Family Home" by WitchRiser.

**********************************

Skaalview is based on the concept of stacking Edla's little house on top of Baldor's slightly bigger house to see if it could be done seemlessly, and to create a player home in a part of the Elder Scrolls universe I was exploring at the time. This was supposed to be a quick house-only mod created from in-game parts...more of a break from my first mod, Country Castle, than anything else. But it developed into a monster as I visualized more and more upgrades. Creating choices via the Steward, experimenting with new pets, adding the Lakehouse and adventures to keep it interesting, and on and on...and then on some more.) I took the advice and constructive criticism I received from my first mod and applied as much of it as I could here. I hope it worked out and I hope you enjoy it!! If it did and you do, please consider giving this mod the ol' Steam Workshop thumbs up!

For reference, the filename for this mod is SelesindrinSkaalHome.

Several other mods are also available for download in my Workshop.

old vet 74, sorrry to hear that. The last time I uploaded an edit was a couple of years ago. I don't know of any mods that would make this one specifically CTD. Did you try the option to hire the builder?

The Temple of Mirak is west and slightly south of the house, past Thirsk Lake.

Ring man, I have no idea why it would do that. It works for me. I hope your problem was just a temporary glitch.

Lost Penguin,
look in the library for clues. Library is in the hall to the left before you get to the puzzle room. Pay special attention to the position of the statues and what they're sitting on.

I just accidentally deleted a post, don't know who's it was. My apologies. If it was a question, please post it again.

In the quest for the Nordic Excavation later on, I am having trouble finding the answer to the stone-matching puzzle. Any hints?

My second floor door is just a hole causing my character to automatically go outside. Any ideas to this?

In the back of the second floor is a storage room with a trapdoor in the floor that leads to the basement.
