Warrior250's Animation Variety Expanded (WAVE)

Description
ALWAYS LOAD THIS MOD VERY LAST EXCEPT FOR PATCHES
WAVE is a visual mod that expands the animation variety by adding MORE death animations, more cover animations, reload animations, among others. The best thing? It does not replace any animations, and adds more to the pool of potential animation played.
  • Do you like pausing the game and staring at infantry like I do?
  • Tired of seeing the same death pose?
  • Wanna see everyone reload their own way?

You'll enjoy WAVE.

What's in this mod?
Death animations have more variations now.
Every single title in Men of War, even Gates of Hell, has always used about 27 death animations (more or less) that you'll commonly see in game (and no, stand_die_03, 04, 05, 06; and die_burning of GOH aren't used).

WAVE turns that 27 into 90+ possible death animations.

Achieved by using GOH's old, unused, and new anims; some of AS2 anims that I still find okay (the rest can stay forgotten); and lastly, my own anims that are to be added. Best of three worlds. Each death animation is heavily curated and tested (Thanks Alt+R + thousands of dead units), and the way I structured them right now is to make sure there's less chance of the same animation playing. But RNG of the system is unfair, at best.

More reload, sprint, cover animations, etc.
This mod adds more variety to other animations as well, such as for low cover and high cover, sprint animations, corner pie/peek animations, and more to come.

What, no weapon stance animations?
Sadly no, I tried my best to work around it but I simply haven't found a way to make it work like AS2.

Period appropriate animations. [To be determined]
WW1 to Vietnam eras will use base WAVE animations.

1980s to contemporary mods will be patched to use a more modern set of tactical animations.

Far future or sci-fi can have both.

This is so you won't see people doing a low ready in WW1-WW2 because small arms were heavy (hence I did not include pre-1.054.0 GOH jog), but it's pretty reasonable to see it by 80's onwards.

Compatibility - LOAD LAST EVEN AFTER MODS THAT SAY SO
Conflicts with mods that modifies _reg_human_movement

That's it, that's the only the conflict.

I do not plan to have this included to any mods, but there will be patches made.
I change the files a lot and it would be a hassle to keep sending updates to modders' DM's because I adjusted a bone here and there or moved an anm file to a different folder.

This way it's easier to keep track, and when I change something, I wouldn't have to bother modders (I'm sure they don't mind, but I insist).

Works with these mods right off the bat. Load last just in case.

Credits:
  • Massive thanks to BWS for adding the animation variety update as of 1.054.0, this wouldn't be made without that.
  • Cold War Team* for a corner peek animation.
  • Unreal/Source games whose anims were ported or act as basis for my new animations.
  • Thanks Vox for sending the properties folders of mods so I could check if they're compatible.
  • Folks who confirm compatible mods.

@HOBOE, lmao. Ain't no way animations are going to conflict with sounds.

@EmperorOfFinland, gotcha! Just updated the mod.

@holo, that's possible, I think I can find a game or two with such death animations

Could add some dynamic death animations? Add the animation of the soldiers struggling after they fall to the ground:steamhappy:

@Warrior250

Sure i usually look at when mods update on the end. i wont make the patch today but probably by the end of the week i think. Ie the only file being different is that one file mostlikely

Someone actually asked if this exquisite and perfect animation mod conflicts with the voice mod. I really don't know what to say for them😥

Sure thing @EmperorOfFinland, I've been relatively busy to check every mod out here and can definitely miss a mod or two.

I'm good with a compatibility patch, you can do it like how I did with Horten's Frontlines and link the core inc files in the WAVE.

Bear in mind that I really do constantly update this mod, but I'll let 'ya know if I change anything major so you'll be informed!

You want me to generate a compability patch for Ultrahotmod for this. ie that people can run this mod and they can load the baseversion or just use the compability patch on my end? Alternatively i can incorporate it straight in and give credits.

Since some people are already using it and the said compability patch would be very easy to make on my end.

Ie my mod is West 81 based and modified ontop of it so basically only file that needs to be adjusted is the reg_human_movement and i can modify it myself by either compability patch or just incorporate it in.

I think me making compability patch would be the best option so people can sub and load yours and i will have the compability patch to make it work properly on my mod so you dont have to do any work for it. ie i will take care of the compability on my end and update it when you update yours.
