Witches get angered by flashlights V2

Description
For 16 years, we have been lied to. The L4D1 intro shows a Witch being angered by a flashlight. The survivors tell each other to turn their lights off when they're near a Witch. Everybody jokes constantly about how shining a light on a Witch makes her angry. But what happens when you do it in game? Nothing. She doesn't care.

Until now 1 year ago, when I had the idea to make a mod to fix that.

But now that mod has been improved!

This script changes the way that flashlights affect Witches. If a survivor has their flashlight on and pointed at a Witch, she will be angered much faster and from further away. You can turn your light on and off to see the change happen; she'll calm down when it's off, and get mad again when it's back on.

In V2, Witches will only get angered by flashlights if the light is shining in her direction. This adds an extra level of realism, and also means that she won't get angered by survivors who are behind a wall or not looking at her. In addition, the script can be customized by changing the ems file "flashlight_witches_v2\settings.txt". You can alter various aspects such as how quickly she gets angered and from how far away. This lets you tailor the mod to suit your ideal difficulty level, or to make it pair with any other flashlight related mods you have (for example, if you use a brighter flashlight mod you can increase the range at which she will be angered by it).

A very special thank you to Kurochama, Everice and Nescius for their assistance with making the original version of this mod, and thank you to Alpha for the Line of Sight additions

You're probably being asked by a lot of people because you're a modder and all, but personally I'd like to play with you to show the Witch and her technical side (such as when headshot_death plays, bugs and other stuff).

Her crying animation also matters, what I said only truly works if you've got a bigger flashlight and threat_hostile range, but it's in the vanilla Witch alright, as my Witch has an increased hostile_range.Not modded behavior just increased the base cvars.

Interesting to note that hostile_range and flashlight work together. The flashlight range cannot be longer than hostile_range, at this point she will ignore it.

I just tested it. I could only recreate what you said when I approached her from a distance directly in front of her. If she can't see you, you can get closer, and at that point she just gets mad because you're close not because of the light. The direction of the light also doesn't seem to matter (I got the same times whether I was pointing it at her or off to the side). The light, as you said, also does absolutely nothing if she's not already aggro'd.

Array you're right, that is how it works. It also allows her to see you approaching from the front from further away if you're looking directly looking at her vs without it.

people do not realize that this feature is in the base game, it is just not that noticible.

without this mod, walk up to a witch to start her "agro" state. once that state is started, then turn on your flashlight. you will notice her agro state grows much faster.

this addon just makes it so you do not need to "pre" agro her for the effect to work
