Description
This collection is in its very early stages so it does not yet function well at its stated goals - especially because there is a heap of unsorted puzzles at the bottom of the list. You're advised to use the linked Introduction to the Workshop collection instead.

This is a collection of singleplayer puzzles, with the goals:
  1. To be good for my friends to get into community puzzles. I supervise them to make sure there aren't any hiccups and think how to revise the collection to fix any.
  2. To feature different chambers from the respected Introduction to the Workshop collection, so that it has more of a reason to exist at all.
  3. To be in a good order:
    • At the start of the list, requiring less puzzle solving skill than was necessary to beat the singleplayer campaign. (Like 0 to 1/10 on the typical difficulty scale)
    • Introducing mechanics or interactions with "tutorials" (especially when labeled, so that it's clear new knowledge is needed rather than the player having a dissatisfying experience being stumped) before puzzles later in the list that require them
    • Having the visuals / style / presentation of adjacent chambers be different from each other (e.g. PeTI then overgrown then Wheatley is a fresh lineup)
    • Having the main elements of adjacent chambers be different from each other (e.g. laser + cube then bridge + fizzlers then funnel + gel is a fresh lineup)
    • Gradually increasing in complexity and difficulty across the collection's runtime. (Ending at like 2 to 3/10 on the typical difficulty scale) (For a shorter collection that progresses all the way to 10/10, please see SteamStream's Best Progressing difficulty maps instead)
  4. To teach every mechanic or interaction necessary to solve a typical puzzle (e.g. cube respawning, portal management, but not something niche). The player should leave equipped for medium difficulty puzzles (about 3 to 5/10 on the typical difficulty scale)
  5. To feature as many legendary creators across this game's history as possible, providing next steps of what to check out after completing this collection

So, to say it clearly, please play in order (feel free to look up the solution or read the comments on the workshop page to glean what you're supposed to do), and because this collection isn't close to polished yet, with the supervision of a seasoned puzzle solver (and ideally maker). And let me know what you think please!

To be explicit, non- or anti-goals are:
  1. Allowing design flaws or opportunity for exploitation (e.g. portal bumping must be prevented, but crouch fly is unfixable so it's allowed). I don't want to allow bad habits to develop.
  2. Requiring execution skill. (Ideally, every chamber is solvable even if you were burdened by a 1 FPS monitor)
  3. Featuring multiplayer chambers
  4. Featuring levels where too much time is used on non-puzzle-solving aspects (e.g. story / "cutscenes", traversal, or "finding" a relevant part (e.g. far-away portal surface) of the puzzle)
  5. Everything that's obvious and doesn't need to be said (including linear, low quality, etc etc, chambers)
