Black Stasis

Description
Black Stasis is a horror experience built in Half-Life 2: Episode Two, designed to haunt, challenge, and surprise.

You awaken in the wreckage of a train crash, stranded in a mist-shrouded valley. But isolation is just the beginning. As you explore deeper, reality fractures:

A cabin that catches you.

Mines with no behinds.

Labs stagnate with silence.

Ritual grounds hidden away.

A manor that contains a different kind of pathway.

This is a surreal descent featuring some physics puzzles, dynamic combat, and visual storytelling that pushes the Source Engine beyond its limits. So far in fact that it crashes...that said older engines sometimes have their own charms, which is why I'm back at building new maps. I hope you enjoy the experience and look forward to playing more.

Black Stasis 2? Shhhhh…let me cook it longer. You can favorite this one and I'll update with some kind of secret thingy to celebrate BS2 launch.

Feedback is welcome for update 1.

Update 2 will focus on cubemaps, nodes, and those last bugs.

Known Issue: It crashes on autoload/quickload on the last map. I'll continue to debug and figure it out.

Still crashes. Went through the area in the mines, got killed my a headcrab, tried loading from my last save but it keeps crashing. Such a shame, though I look forward to playing this once you iron out the kinks.

Finished fixing and improving things.

• Better lighting: Increased lightmap resolution to improve shadows.

• Improved AI: Enemies move more smoothly with upgraded pathfinding.

• Higher FPS: Optimized performance across the board. Input/Output reduced, lightmap wider range used, propper combining, etc.

• Crash fixes: Replaced models that caused stability issues. Still not perfect on the last map so I will do another debug pass and hopefully figure it out.

• Slowmo tweak: slow-motion effect now has extra ways to end. Still can be bugged if player kills it quickly.

• Dropship pacing: Adjusted landings for better flow. Also changed landing location.

• Tons of others fixes and changes.

Crash on quickload/reloading

There are no autosave triggers anymore, but it will still crash on quickload/reloading the map after death. It's not consistent either as I can get it working sometimes, but change a few things and suddenly it's not working again. That said your comment does give me an idea about what might be causing it so thanks.

When i come to the house my framerates go down, Maybe you should make zombies come in smaller numbers
Another problem is that this mod is crashing when it loads auto saves. You should remove autosave triggers.
