Better Work Details

Description
-- ATTENTION ---
This mod needs DFHack to be installed. You can simply get it here (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2346660/DFHack__Dwarf_Fortress_Modding_Engine/)

Overview
This mod will help you to edit your labors and work details more deeply.

What this mod is offering to you:
  • The new overlay in the Work Details screen. This overlay will allow you to:
    • Change the icon of selected labor to any available icons in the game. Do you want masons to look like stonecutters? No problem! Now you can do it. Or do you need some particular icon from your favorite mod? No problem either! Now you don't need to create 'placeholder' labors just to catch the needed icon.
    • Replace selected labor with any other labor in your list. Did you create a mess in your labor list? Now you can sort them all whatever you like!
    • Almost the same as the previous, but this option just puts selected labor to the entered index. In case when you simply want to add something at the end of the already sorted list. To not force you to count the indexes, there's a pleasant list with names and indexes for you.
    • And, the last one, is the possibility to remove created work details. Be careful!!! This action cannot be undone.
  • New overlay in the View Unit screen. This overlay will help you to check how many dwarfs are assigned to each labor without opening the Labor screen ever again. This overlay is turned off by default, so you need to turn it on in the DFHack Settings (I turned it off because it looks a little fuzzy).

Q&A

Q: Can I enable this mod in the existing save?
A: Sure thing, it will be automatically activated when you install/subscribe.

Q: Mod is not working! Can you help?
A: There are two options what could help:
1) Open the DFHack Control Panel (Ctrl + Shift + E) and then open the UI Overlays menu. Find and activate 2 "better-work-details" options.

2) In case mod still not working and you are using any kind of localization:
- Rollback it to english
- Run game(it should works well now)
- Add all the professions you may ever need and configure them as you want(It will be better to use original names, cause they'll be auto translated later). - Save them and enable autoload.
- Save and exit the game.
- Install your localization again.
Thanks @Kosh for this instruction!

Kosh 17 Sep @ 1:00pm

Q&A :stein:

So guys, for those of you, who can't run it properly, like me. Here is an instruction:

1) Open the DFHack Control Panel (Ctrl + Shift + E) and then open the UI Overlays menu. Find and activate 2 "better-work-details" options.

2) In case mod still not working and you are using any kind of localization:
- Rollback it to english
- Run game(it should works well now)
- Add all the professions you may ever need and configure them as you want(It will be better to use original names, cause they'll be auto translated later). - Save them and enable autoload.
- Save and exit the game.
- Install your localization again.

Yin 8 Sep @ 9:14am
That was indeed the problem, the options were off.
I can use it now, thanks for the mod.

Sorry for my late reply, really sad to hear that it's not working :(
I can't find any reason why it shouldn't work from my side.
The only solution that is left in my mind is to try to turn it on in the UI Overlays tab in the DFHack menu. Try to open the DFHack Control Panel (Ctrl + Shift + E) and then open the UI Overlays menu. If mod is listed here, just turn it on. It should be listed as better-work-details
