White Knuckle How to Use the Cheat Console
Av <i><mark><b><#FF0><u>Qwergin
This guide shows you how to use the console, and what all the commands do. The console is incredibly overpowered, but if you activate the powerful commands, you won't gain any stats, achievements, or leaderboard scores until you restart your run.

Introduction
Hello!
This guide shows you how to activate and use the console, along with how to use all the commands effectively. The console is incredibly powerful and useful, and I was able to get tons of information about the enemies for my all hazards guide using it. However, you cannot gain any leaderboard progress or achievements, or have stats saved for the rest of your current run if you enable the cheats in the console.

Accessing the console
What the console looks like.

This section will show you how to get to the powerful parts of the console.
Start any gamemode. The console works in all gamemodes.
Once you're in, press shift, and the key that is under your esc key at the same time. For example, QWERTY would be shift and ~, QWERTZ would be shift and ^, etc. Doing this key combo will open a box you can type in.
The easiest way to exit this box is by pausing and unpausing.

In the console, type help. This will show three commands:
cheats
help
targetframerate
These three commands do what the name says. To get into the real good stuff, type "cheats" into the console.
After you've typed cheats and it says it enabled it, type help again.
You will be shown tons of commands, and I will tell you how to use all of them.

After you type cheats, there will be red text in the top right corner which says CHEATS ENABLED, this will indicate if cheats are enabled or not.
Commands
addforcetoplayer
You use it by typing in the x, y, and z axis of what force you want to be applied. For example, addforcetoplayer 0, 10, 0 would sent you up a little. addforcetoplayer 4, 3, -5 would send you diagonally forward and left, and a bit upwards. This can be used to go up very far if you say like addforcetoplayer 0, 1000, 0 or something, but that seems to be the only good use to this command.

addperk
This adds a perk of your choosing to you. You can check the perks you have by looking in your inventory. To use this command correctly, type in listperks in the console to see the names of the perks. An example of using this command would be: addperk perk_u_t2_badparent
That command would give you the bad parent perk by common sense. These perk names are not hard to decipher.

cheats
If you use this command with cheats on, it turns cheats back off. This does not make your run save stats for the rest of the run, you have to restart your run.

deathgoo-cankill
This toggles if The Mass kills you or not. When using the command for the first time, it will say Goo Kill set to False. This means you can't die to The Mass. When using it again, it says Goo Kill set to True. This means you can now die to The Mass.

deathgoo-height
This command can be used to move the goo however you want, and it uses negative numbers. However, it for some reason the height is based off of you, not the substructure. For example, if you say deathgoo-height 1 it would always put The Mass right at the exact spot where if it moves a pixel higher it kills you, no matter how high you are located when you say the command. This can be used for cinematic scenes. The more useful functionality is making The Mass go lower. For example, if you say deathgoo-height -100 The Mass will go really far below you.

deathgoo-speed
The numbers used in this command is meters per second. Saying deathgoo-speed 1 would make The Mass move at 1 meter per second. In the normal game, the fastest The Mass can move is 2 meters per second, then 3 meters per second at 5K, and then 16 meters per second at 10K, but with cheats you can make it anything you want. In my opinion, I think deathgoo-speed 3 is pretty fun, and you should try it out to see how fast you are.

deathgoo-stop
This deactivates The Mass. Combined with deathgoo-height, you can make some interesting looking scenes. I combined deathgoo-stop and deathgoo-height together to take good pictures of The Mass for two of my White Knuckle guides. The real functionality of this command is for practicing and exploration.

erasesavedata
Does exactly what the name says. Erases your save data. This command is useless though, because there is already an Erase Save Data button in the settings.

freecam
Enables a very high quality freecam. I prefer to use noclip for everything, but freecam is pretty cool. It looks like it might make people motion sick though. Also, the freecam does not have any restrictions on where it can look, and holding space always makes it go directly upwards. You can adjust speed by scrolling the scroll wheel, and the FOV by shift scrolling.

fullbright
Makes your game as bright as possible. I used this to easily study Teeth and Vent Thing. This can be helpful if you're trying to learn about dark areas, or learn about the inhabitants of those dark areas.

getgenerationseed
This gets the generation seed. Yes, you can choose the generation seed. It is a work in progress and inconsistent in a couple of minor factors, so it is hidden behind a button combo in the menu. Press ctrl + shift + s in the menu and it opens up the generation seed thing.

godmode
No matter what, you can not lose health or die. Useful for testing mechanics with monsters or certain hazards, or really just with practicing the game.

hands-mobile
This command moves your hand towards the center of the screen so they can be seen on a phone. If you make short-form content, this is a helpful command. You can also use this command to make steam guide pictures, like I did in this guides picture. Using it multiple times causes it to go towards the center more, eventually moving outwards and backwards.

help
Shows the commands.

infinitestamina
Makes it so you cannot lose any stamina, no matter what.

kill
This literally just kills you. This does not have any helpful use.

listentityprefabs
This lists all the terms the game uses for entitys. You need to use this command so you know how to use the spawnentity command.

listlevels
This lists all the levels in the entire game. This can be used for many commands in the game.

listloadedlevels
This lists all the levels that have been generated. You need to use this command to properly use the teleportplayertolevel command.

listperks
This lists all the perks in the game. You need to use this command to be able to use the addperks command.

load
A glitchy and weird command. Loads scenes. Examples of some names of scenes is playground, main-menu, intro, training-level, and game-main.

loadlevels
A very interesting command. You can build your own substructure. By saying listlevels in the console, it shows you all the levels. You can load any of these levels you want by using this loadlevels command. Separate each level with a space. For example: "loadlevels m2_pipeworks_organ_01 transition_pipeworks_to_silo." There is one problem with this command. To make it start the most efficiently, make the first level Silos. If you start with anything else, there's just an out of place grey door cylinder thingy that might even block you from making any progress at the start. If you mix levels in a certain way, it will cause the levels to be sideways.

noclip
Makes you fly around without any collision. Silos doors don't close, enemies don't see you, but you can die to anything. To disable this, just type noclip again.

notarget
Makes it so enemies do not target you or each other. They act completely normal except they can't see anything that is alive.

setgenerationseed
Allows you to set the generation seed without doing the ctrl + shift + s combination in the main menu.

setroaches
Gives you roaches in the vending machine. For example, setroaches 500 would give you 500 roaches.

spawnentity
Can spawn items, props, and enemies. You need to use the listentityprefabs command to know how to use this. An example of a command using this, would be spawnentity denizen_bloodbug. This spawns a bloodbug at your cursor.

targetframerate
Sets the maximum framerate. V-sync MUST be disabled for this to work. Typing the command shows you the current max framerate, and typing a number after the command changes the framerate to that number. -1 uncaps the framerate.

teleportplayer
Works similarly to the addforcetoplayer command. You can use it by typing in the x, y, and z axis of where you want to teleport. Unlike the deathgoo-height command, this command uses numbers that reflect the entire substructure. If you say teleportplayer 0, 10, 0, you will always teleport to the exact same spot no matter where you are located in the substructure.

teleportplayertolevel
You can ONLY teleport to loaded levels with this command. Use the listloadedlevels command to see which levels you can teleport to with this.

timescale
You can change time by typing a number after it. Decimals are allowed.

If you have any questions, ask me in the comments.
Secret Commands
godeeper
Using this command will send you to Her Domain. This command only appears in the cheatrooms if you approach randomly spawning graffiti of little white hearts on the wall of His Domain. It might take a while, so give yourself some speed perks to speed up the process of finding it. You can type loadlevels m3_habitation_ladderwarp_intro to get to The Ladder easily, and you enter the cheatrooms by using a cheat in The Ladder.

punishme
This command becomes available once you die to the Jack in the cheatrooms. Waiting long enough in His Domain, around 15 minutes for me, will make Jack spawn. When Jack kills you, you are free to use the command. There are infinite difficulties of this command, however, there are only 6 speeds. 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6+. For example, punishme 2 would make him move at a very slow pace and chase you. punishme 5 would make it move very fast. Difficulty 5 does not spawn Jack. 6+ makes the speed the speed of the cheatrooms.
