ISL - Lania-AB 83 Medium Interceptor

Description
The Lania is a versatile Interceptor with 8 fixed autocannons as its main armament and wing mounted hardpoints offering 3 payload options: bombs, guided missiles and detachable rocket pods. This allows the Lania series to fill multiple roles until more specialised designs can be put into production.

Various scripts are installed for convenience and better combat performance, including aim assist, docking autopilot, radar and missile guidance.

This is the Atmospheric Thrust variant of the Lania, the Hydrogen and Ion versions are available below:

Payload Options

In addition to a repair projection, the Lania has “payload projectors”, for the 3 loadout options, which can be cycled through using the TMC script interface. the loadaouts are:

  1. 8 Bombs - a simple merge block & warhead, uses timer blocks to activate the warheads and detach the merge blocks in sequence
  2. 4 Detachable Rocket pods - each with 2 rocket launchers, and a decoy block that will activate when the rocket pod is empty.
  3. 4 Guided missiles - compact, WHAM guided missiles using the same thrust type as the ship.

Scripts

The cockpit is set up with the TMC script for managing script settings and payload projectors, although time-sensitive controls, such as missile lock & launch or aim assist toggle still have toolbar buttons.

Guided Missile Controls

  1. LAMP | Launch A Missile Program- Fire control script for guided missiles.
  2. WHAM | Whip's Homing Advanced Missile Script - Flight control script for guided missiles.
  3. Whip's Missile Status Script (for WHAM) - Cockpit display for missile payload.

Combat

  1. Whip's Turret Based Radar - Radar screen for enemies, friendlies and asteroids.
  2. Whip's Weapon Salvo Script - Used to stagger rocket pod firing.
  3. HudDog - dogfight tracers, lead, autoaim - HUD display and aim assist functionality.

Display & Convenience

  1. SAM’s Autopilot Manager - Used for automated docking
  2. [TMC] Tree Menu Command NET - activate script, then navigate the menu screen (left cockpit LCD) using mouse cursor, “Q” for back and “E” for selection.
  3. Automatic LCDs 2 - cockpit information display for power and storage.

[TMC] Tree Menu Command interface

Use button 5, on toolbars 4 or 5 to toggle controlling your ship or the screen interface.
When active, your mouse/arrow key movements as well as “Q” and “E” will not turn or roll the ship, but instead control the mouse cursor on the bottom left screen of your cockpit.

Alternatively, you can use buttons 6-9 on toolbar 5 to navigate the menu without pausing turn and roll control of your ship.

The interface is a simple list of menu-items that either open up a sub-menu, or perform an action.

Heyo! Massive fan of all your blueprints, I've been an enjoyer of the ISL printed line for ages on my survival server (the MolaB-A is a personal favorite, and the classification system gives amazing flexibility and options for all your ships, something i've never seen before in a line of ships) and I'm currently in the market for a combat ship. However, I got the Deluxe edition years back, and am as such missing Industrial, Contact, Automatons, and Deco #3 DLCs. I'd really like to make use of the Lania-type, as it seems perfect for my needs at the moment. Is there any chance of either a non-DLC version of the Lania or that it works without the aforementioned DLCs? I'm leary to spend resources fabbing one if it would require heavy surgery afterwards to replace functional blocks. Thanks!

Hey Rastlore30,

Thanks! And yes, I decided that it was time to update the standard ISL toolbars and scripts, especially with the TMC script letting me fit in so much more using less buttons.

So while its a bit different, I hope the versatility is worth having to figure out where all the buttons went.

The Hydro variant is probably the fastest, but the range is a little short, so keep that in mind when you give it a go.

I am not sure why there isn't more raving reviews for this build. I subbed to it awhile back when it was posted but never really had a chance to play around with it until this morning. My word Spite... it is simply amazing and fills a great deal of roles in my fleet. It was a bit off putting getting used to the new scripts over your usual builds but once I got the hang of it it was hands down the best small grid combat ship I have ever had the pleasure of flying. Your work never fails to impress and this takes the cake... I have to go try the Hydro and Ion variants now. Thank you for your hard work so fools like me don't have to.. lol.
