Description
Carefully edits the ambient shadows throughout the game to be more colorful, varied, and beautiful! I was inspired by the smoke of the wildfire outside and thought Kenshi could use more varied ambiance to really make the world shine. Unlike other shadow mods Mood shadows uses a carefully balanced ambientmap to match the landscape of each zone for the best results.

I decided to make this after I noticed a few issues with both Darker Landscapes 3.0 and Darker Shadows. Darker Landscapes 3.0 makes a lot of changes to fog effects and light brightness on top of exposure changes. Darker Shadows does not work with Performance Fix[www.nexusmods.com]. This inspired me to make my own updated mod that was more compatible and carefully constructed for the best graphics <3

-----Compatibility-----
No import required, load Mood Shadows before any other mods which edit lighting.

I highly recommend using alongside my other mods Mood Lighting and Mood Weather, not a requirement but the they work well and look best together.

Incompatible with similar mods like Darker Landscape 3.0, Darker Nights+, Brighter Nights, Darker Shadows, Shadiness, Brown Ambience, etc.

-----Permissions-----
Everything in the Mood series is 100% free to modify and incorporate into your own mods. Credit is appreciated <3

Asking the same question as Hex down here, would love to use both mods at the same time

Is this compatible with Realistic Tidal Lock Days ? That mod makes nights darker apparently. I'm loading RTLD after Mood Shadows and it seems stable but I can never be certain.

Upon further looking I realize there is no way to get shadows to look better than what I have, the engine cannot handle it and I start seeing shadow triangles light breaking through shadows at the top of my screen and when I zoom in its like the world has tiny dark lines. Thanks for your mod anyways, cant wait for kenshi 2!

Do we use this alongside Mood Shadows - Darker Nights or separately? These mods have been absolute game changers for me, I love the game as it is without anything that alters the gameplay but the graphics have become stale. Thanks a lot!

Nice Mod, i love the better visuals.
But i got some checkerbox visual glitch at random moments, then i restart the game and the bug is gone. I dont know how to fix this. I made some screenshots if you like to see them.

I'm not sure as I haven't really changed anything since then but I did add the other mood mods and haven't seen it since.

@Kyzer could you share a screenshot? it shouldnt be causing any kind of glitches like that this mod is super simple and only adjusts contrast and ambient color

I'm not sure what the other dude had a problem with, but I have a problem with random scaffolding or something like that casting a jittering shadow on the landscape. It's not present at all without this mod so what the hell?

Hmmpf. Too bad. Then I guess this mod goes out the setup, cuz that jumpy-shadow thing is just too much for my sense of visuals.
Think I'm gonna stick with my own little darkness and day-length tweaks instead, than endure the headache it gives me having to watch shadows hop around. I'd rather have no shadows than jumpy ones, even if they be this pretty^^.

But I'll keep your other mood mods, both waves & weather. Those are both absolutely stellar work, especially waves is a new favourite of mine since I tried it yesterday, 's gonna be in every setup from now on.

@iriemk thank you, i am not sure if it is possible to change how the shadows behave beyond contrast and color. I think everything else is hard coded in the engine
