This would allow you to nerf the base outfit to make the early game more challenging. Then, in the late game, equipping a full 10T set could provide even better defense, vacuum resistance, and other powerful bonuses than the current version, making it competitive even in heavily modded environments.
For balance, I was thinking the low-tier pieces could be obtained from failed gacha pulls or be craftable with basic vanilla materials. High-tier gear, on the other hand, could require various rare items or be crafted from rare blueprints found as mission or exploration rewards.
Of course, this is just a humble suggestion. Please only consider it if you happen to have the time and find the idea interesting.
