TREKORION: Stoneport-Class Command Cruiser | Fe/Ti (8 Slots)

Description
Serving as a command cruiser for reserve fleets, the Stoneport saw limited production with only the first unit - the USS Stoneport - being funded internally while the other examples underwent construction under the Colony Fleet Sponsorship Initiative (CFSI) similar to the Bosphorus II, being seen on the market as the more advanced example.

Capable of commanding various campaigns both combat-oriented and of humanitarian work, this ship is the pride of any fleet that employs it at the flank. With extra fuel tanks mounted on the exterior, it's designed to stay in its line of duty while other ships in the fleet rotate out for whatever reason, making it the perfect candidate for leading colony relief efforts.

Yeah I'd love an STO/Avorion-style game for Halo. Ugh.

I have some ships I never got around to uploading, maybe I'll go back and do that some day soon.

STO was so BAD at launch lol. Wife and I beta tested it and noped out of it. About a few months before Legacy of Romulus came out they kind of hooked me, and then reeled us in after it launched. Still lifetime subbers.

Anyhow, still, thanks for all the hard work you put into these. Allows me to play the Trek-style game that the fans and players deserve. Seriously... why no single=player RPG lol?

Thank you so much :) Yeah I was one of the first few thousand people to even play STO back in the day.

And thanks :) they're mostly kitbashes but I used to do a lot of work to mesh the parts together or edit their appearance to better coincide with a certain aesthetic.

Your designs are absolutely epic. Are you a STO fan? Because I get that impressions when I fly your ships. I LOVE the ships in STO, and it about fried my brain when they started using them in the TV shows.

I completely understand the limitations of the Avorion building system, but this really reminds me of the T5/6 Federation Battlecruiser model.

Amazing attention to detail on all of your models!

When I replaced the generators that are in the rear cylinders with thrusters, and all the directional thrusters with thrusters, and 2 (left and right, middle) framework in the disk with thrusters, then replaced quite a few framework in the center rear with generators and shields, I got a pretty good ship out of it. It might still need a few generators though. But keeping the dead weight (i.e. generators) in the center of gravity and thrusters toward the outside does help quite a lot.

No, that is not the case. Most components get exponentially heavier the bigger they get, though the slope isn't terribly steep. Hence why I leave so many open compartments so you can add gyro arrays and thrusters.

I haven't yet tried scaling-up a ship. I had just assumed that if I have a tiny and very maneuverable ship, that I should be able to scale it up over and over again to maybe 10 times or more of its original size and still get the identical maneuverability. Is that not the case?

Yeah thrusters aren't amazing on large and dense ships, that's when you want gyros - or for ships that don't have large extremities.

Oh I see there's a lot of gyro arrays - I really haven't used those much. Maybe they do a better job than thrusters would.

If you want to roll better, put thrusters in the saucer's sides. If you want better pitch, put them at the front and rear.
