Please note, this mod is no longer supported and will not be receiving updates. I appreciate everyone who gave this mod a try, and I am also thankful for those who supported and reported bugs along the way. Unfortunately, due to a number of wider issues in the community, I will no longer be updating this mod. My time will be spent on other projects outside of the Battlezone franchise.



Version 0.4.1

A complete overhaul of the original game. This mod has been created to breathe new life onto Battlezone: Combat Commander. Pieced together by modders with 10+ years of experience.

Requirements

Campaign - Coop
The campaign has been carefully picked apart, and put back together again with a wide range of changes and improvements. Each mission has been carefully crafted from the ground up with the goal of maintaining the original and widely loved campaign experience, but with some fresh challenges.

Each change has been studied, tested, and implemented with love and care to ensure that this mod is suitable for all Battlezone players from new to old.

The addition of subtitles has opened a new window into accessibility with the aim to help anyone and everyone understand what is being said, what is happening, and who is talking.

Difficulty has been improved. This option now affects nearly every aspect of a mission. Whether it's the amount of enemies spawned, event cool downs, or objective times.

Each mission has been crafted for a cooperative experience. This is now available in multiplayer games for up to 4 players. Enjoy the classic story with your friends, and dominate the Battlezone galaxy!

Instant Action 2.0
A brand new way to battle against the CPU! Instant Action 2.0 was designed to give players a challenge by utilising various tools to make the CPU smarter. You can customise your game play experience through a number of new options, including but not limited to:
  • CPU Commanders - The enemy brings their own Commander to the fight!
  • RTS Mode - No more FPS if you want to play in RTS mode!
  • Intro Cinematics - Want to spice up your intro in IA? These cutscenes do exactly that!
  • Respawning - Don't want to fail when you die? You can respawn!
  • Carrier Mechanics - Call reinforcements in from an allied carrier in orbit. As ISDF, construct a new Landing Pad to call in Condor Dropships, and as Scion, construct a Portal to teleport units into the fight.

CPU Improvements
  • Pre-designed bases meaning the CPU will construct their base following a pattern, and not randomly.
  • Lua driven dispatch code (Patrols, Turrets, Platoons, and more).
  • GreenHeart buildings. The CPU will now build GreenHeart units and buildings to attack and defend.
  • Improved dog-fighting, the AI now uses weapon linking when fighting combat units.

GreenHeart maps and assets are now included!

Hi there!
Doesn't somebody will see this, but just calling this out
Trying on BZCC 2.0.185 Instant Combat mission always gives one particular problem:

Damaged or invalid save file detected
This could be caused by mods changing assets incompatibly,
or from the damage to the save file.

Any hopes this mod can still work?

Good question. I will have to ask developers if achievements are enabled with mods. Playing with any mod may disable achievements but I am not 100% sure.
