Description
The Rescue Dragon
Overview
Based on the versatile airframe of the Combat Dragon, the Rescue Dragon covers a heavy requested market niche with a capable workhorse with endurance.

For a full description and detailed checklist refer to the Rescue Dragon's official Flight Manual:

Features
The Rescue Dragon features a wide set of systems and sensor to fit into the theater of archipelagean offshore rescue. With a huge airtime thanks to it's efficient engines, it's designed to leverage the balance of life and death in Dragon's favor.

Nominally and most efficiently operated by 2 crew (pilot + operator). With it's auto-pilot systems, the Dragon can also be employed single piloted. It features the following list of systems (not exclusive):
  • Autopilot with POS, HDG, NAV (Waypoint) and ALT-Hold modes. POS-Hold can be adjusted by winch-operator
  • POS AP can be armed to follow a radar target below the aircraft, so the Dragon can follow slow moving targets
  • GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System)
  • A modern FLIR optical turret with ground and radar tracking, water cannon and a slaved search light
  • A simple transponder locator
  • VDF system to locate radio sources (with known frequencies)
  • Dual deployable four-winch systems with changeable harness or stretchers
  • Weather Logger for metreological situational awareness
  • A simple sonar underwater detection system
  • A remote controlled underwater drone (RUV) for sub sea repair, rescue and recovery
  • 8 intensive care medical beds
  • 7 seats for crew or pax
  • A large winch for heavy lifting (or deep sea support)
  • An integrated container grappler
  • A wide variety of rescuing equipment

With the same hull as the Combat Dragon, the Rescue Dragon is also cabable of water landing. But beware of high winds!

With a topspeed of 80m/s and an endurance of numerous hours it easely fits any demand. And with it's safety systems, crew well beeing is severly enhanced even in the harshest environments.

In a recent upgrade, the Dragon got Synthetic Vision for it's Pilot HMD. Controls are besides the map screen control.
CAUTION!
Implementation of Synthetic Vision is just rudimentary and can't follow pilot head movement. Align view with forward flight vector to achieve best result.

Richman, can you possibly make a smaller, more agile variant of the base runner?

BTW, when you flip and you are upside down on the water, if you open the armory, it starts to flood

There are several winches on the Dragon. Each with it's own set of controls.
1. The 4 belly winches with the container frame are lowered by the Pilot or when selected via the control panel from the Operator.
2. The 4 rescue winches on each frame can be lowered by the control panel by the side hatch, or from the master harness. But the rack the winches are on needs to be deployed first.
3. The medium winch to which the ROV is connected can be controlled either from outside the ROV bay RH side, or from the Operators control panel, when selected.
4. The huge winch in the cargo bay can be controlled from the control panel behind the winch (the one facing the belly hatch) or also from the Operators control panel when selected.

Ensure always to have at least a battery or an alternator online with engines running to have power.

If you don't mind me asking, how do I get the five attachment winches to drop? I came get them to go down.
Richman  [author] 24 Jun @ 9:03am
Armory code, as mentioned in comments already several times is 1234.

To use the ROV, you have to deploy it first, either when in hover or when splashed down. But it's harder to get it going when already in the water.

You can now control the ROV from the operator station by switching to the last screen mode. If you want to access the deep sea, you can switch winches. Just open the access hatch on the ROV bay and connect the cable from there to the large winch.

also, how do you use the rov?
Zaku2gaming 23 Jun @ 10:04am
what is the armoury code?

Hm, weird issue. I tested my local variant and the one on the workshop, and the panel for the operator (I guess the one below his screen) works fine so far. Also the winches I tried (4 for the container frame, 1 for the sub, 4 starboard with rescue harnesses) work fine.

Keep in mind that you need to have power on the systems, either have at least one battery switch on or engines running and at least one generator on.

The control panels with purple background are only used when controlling an NFT asset. So as long as you don't have such an asset in the AO, they would have any obvious function.

love the vehicle, i could just be stupid but the only issue i have is the control panel behind operator seat doesnt work and i cant get the 5 attachment winches to lower. all in all 5 stars

Thx. For the moment, an upgrade is coming which enables the Dragon to carry a small RUV for access to deep sea missions.

I could look into the issue with the radar. Does it end in a blue screen? Could you maybe send me a screenshot with the exact failure code (the line, where the code breaks would be helpful).
