RimNauts 2 - EM Metals Asteroids Patch

Description
Adds additional RimNauts 2 metallic asteroids for the following Expanded Materials Metals materials:
  • Copper
  • Germanium Removed in 1.5
  • Lead
  • Lithium Removed in 1.5
  • Tin
  • Titanium
  • Tungsten Removed in 1.5

This mod also converts RimNauts 2 Steel asteroids to give Iron instead so as not to obviate the entire point of the steel production chain, and removes Plasteel asteroids as Plasteel is an alloy that's meant to be more difficult to acquire than just mining huge quantities of it up in space.

I'm curious to hear any feedback about balancing. Do you think the asteroids are too stingy? Too generous? It's meant to be fairly labor intensive, but it still gives rewards vastly better than using a normal Long Range Mineral Scanner, at the cost of having to do it in space. Some resources like Copper benefit from being extremely light and easy to ship back.

Enjoy! If you need to talk to me in a hurry, you can find me on any of the relevant Discords for RimNauts, RimWorld, or EM Metals under the name Jiopaba.

Steam workshop love to trick everyone if not watching it

Dr. Thrax, good catch. I don't think anyone has reported that specific issue before. I'm not sure how that got changed at some point, but the steamWorkshopUrl was pointing to Harmony instead of Rimnauts 2.

Mind, that shouldn't have caused any actual issues because dependencies work solely off of the Package ID, but the link was incorrect if you clicked on it.

Still unable to recreate issues people have reported of having the mod request the wrong version of EM Metals though. The links are extremely straightforward: In 1.4 it requests mod 2259837114 which is EM Metals (Old Version) and in 1.5 it requests 3333419387 which is the new version of EM Metals.

In any case, I think Rimnauts 2 is probably going to be quite broken for quite a long time due to the arrival of Odyssey and 1.6, so we'll see what the future of this mod looks like as it comes. Hopefully any folks still playing in 1.5 can continue to enjoy it.

Yeah, I dunno what to tell you LZIM. I don't see/experience that issue and can't recreate it. If you have EM:Metals and this mod installed, then this mod just needs EM:Metals and it doesn't complain about it. I'm not sure why it's telling you you don't have that mod.

*** important, It still works I was just pointing out the error shown on the mod list when that mod is selected

subbed to the second one.. though with 1.6 it is moot for the time being sadly

@LZIM Are you sure you have the right version installed then? If you say you have Expanded Materials Metals, is it "argon.vmeu" or "argon.expandedmaterials.metals?"

At a guess, you're using the old version located here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2259837114

You need to update to the modern/1.5 EM-M which is located here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3333419387

Still shows as missing dependency (in rimpy and in game) when Expanded Materials - Metals in enabled.

argon.expandedmaterials.metals

@Mayonnaise Not quite. This mod has "modDependenciesByVersion" specified. If you're playing in 1.4 it requires argon.vmeu. If you're playing in 1.5 it requires Argon.ExpandedMaterials.Metals.

this requires the wrong version of VMEU in it's About.xml; might want to change it to avoid confusion xD

the version of Expanded Materials currently updated has it's mod ID set as argon.expandedmaterials.metals; whereas your mod is looking for argon.vmeu.

hope this helps!
