Description
Play as the Maharajadhiraj of Gorkha that founded Nepal, Prithvi Narayan Shah; in Sid Meier's Civilization VI.

Nepal is the cultural melting pot of hundreds of ethnic groups and a one of the holiest realms of the Dharmic religions as it is the epicenter of Siddhartha Gautama's earliest teachings and at the foot of the Himalayas. There have been a few periods of a united Nepali Raj but the Himalayas Hills were mostly splintered during the medieval period. The unifier of Nepal, Prithvi Narayan Shah, claimed that his Gorkhali Rajahnate was "Asal Hindustan" or the true Indian state as the south had succumbed to Mughals or the British. The Gorkhali state subsumed other principalities in the region through annexation by warfare or diplomacy. The soldiers under Prithvi Narayan Shah proved to be fierce fighters, earning the respect of the British who would seek the incorporation of Gurkhas in their armies. Gurkhas serve in Nepal, India, the United Kingdom, and Malay to this day.

  • Trait - Asal Hindustan: Land military units gain +1 Combat Strength per era after the Ancient era, the Industrial era grants +3 Combat Strength. Gain the Gurkha unique unit.
  • Agenda - A Yam Between Two Boulders: Likes civilizations that are far away. Dislikes civilizations that are nearby.

    LEADER UNIT: GURKHA
  • Nepali and Indian unique Melee class unit when Prithvi Narayan Shah is the leader. Must be purchased with Faith. Has a unique promotion tree. Gain +15 Combat Strength every time the Barracks, Armory, and Military Academy are first constructed. +50% Experience from combat in enemy territory. +50% Experience from combat on a continent different than the Capital.

    PROMOTION TREE: GURKHA
  • Gorkhali Reserves: Heals at the end of every turn, even after moving or attacking.
  • Khukuri Mastery: +7 Combat Strength when attacking.
  • Unification: +1 Diplomatic Favour and +1% Envoy Token points per turn while this unit exists.
  • Colonial Allies: +4 Combat Strength per active alliance.
  • Continental Allies: +4 Combat Strength per adjacent levied unit.

    CIVILIZATION: NEPAL
  • Trait - Kingdoms of the Himalaya Hills: Tiles adjacent to Rivers gain +1 Gold. Tiles adjacent to Mountains gain +1 Faith. Cities adjacent to a Mountain or River gain +1 Housing.
  • Spawn Bias - Tier 1 Grassland Floodplains/Grassland Hills/Grassland Mountains, Tier 2 Plains Floodplains/Plains Hills/Plains Mountains, Tier 3 Jungle/Woods, Tier 5 Desert Floodplains/Desert Hills/Desert Mountains/Tundra Hills/Tundra Mountains/Snow Hills/Snow Mountains.

    CIVILIZATION UNIT: KUMARI DEVI
  • Nepali unique Support class unit. Becomes more expensive after every copy. Adjacent land military units gain a burst of Great Person points when defeating an enemy unit. Has a Lifespan of 15 turns (on standard speed).

    CIVILIZATION DISTRICT: GARH
  • A district unique to Nepal. Replaces the Theater Square and cheaper to build. Becomes more expensive after every copy. Grants the Eureka for Castles when completed. Acquires Outer Defenses and Ranged Strike. Minor Culture and Faith adjacency from districts. Standard Culture and Faith adjacency from Wonders, Rivers, Mountains, and Natural Wonders. Cannot be built adjacent to a City Center. Must be built on a hill tile.

    Strudeler, Sindh's al Qasim would have been a leader of Arabia, not India, had it been expanded. All the leaders you listed, including the Mughals, always led parts of India but not India as a whole. If you want to add another leader for India, you could add Ashoka or Vikramaditya

    Also, for religions, 4 of your civilizations - Nepal, Rajasthan, Odhisa and Tamil - are Hindu, while Mughals are Islam. If you support Tomatekh's Religion mod, Nepal, Rajasthan and Tamil would be Shaivya, while Odhisa would be Vaishnav. From the Mughals, Aurangzeb would be Sunni while Akbar would be Deen-i-Ilahi

    The leader pass convinced me India could be lead by a variety of historical figures @McDuck. For instance, the only reason Sindh's al-Qasim does not lead India is because I released him on Nexus Mods before I had knowledge of how radical the leader pass would be (Nader Shah leads what is clearly a classical Persia, Ludwig II will lead Germany and not Bavaria, etc.).

    One thing about this mod: Prithvi Narayan Shah was uniquely the founder of Nepal: he had nothing to do w/ India. In fact, all the Indus valley mods you did - you could uniquely make the rulers the rulers of their respective kingdoms - Nepal, Rajasthan, et al
