Mimikko: Beast Eared Assistants (English Patch)

Description
This is an English Patch for the cute little mod called 兽耳助手(Mimikko)

The 1.4 English translation is a bit preliminary. Expect issues.
There is some text which cannot currently be translated, as the original mod does not provide the necessary text. This is because it is still in active development towards a stable 1.4 release.

The following is mostly taken from the Steam Workshop page for the original mod itself.

This mod adds the Mimikko; Cute little Assistants to help and comfort you out on the Rim. The only way to obtain these Assistants is to conduct story-based research, and then wait a little while for the event to trigger. Completing the research is what causes the event itself to trigger. There are different stories for each of the assistants which you can get.

Some of the highlights are...
1: Affectionate lines of dialogue for each of the girls! Develop a bond and get to know them!
2: Exclusive rewards for bonding with the girls!
3: An Assistant favorability system, allowing you to increase your bond with the girls!
4: Beds, beds, beds! A number of beds for each of the girls to get a comfortable night's sleep! You may just end up wanting to make a room for each of them~ (Note: The beds cannot currently be rotated)

So how do you actually get said assistants? Easy!

1: Do the appropriate research.
2: Wait for event to trigger once the above is done.
3: Bring the Mimikko Mind Core back to base.
4: Select a colonist with at least lvl 2 in intellectual, right-click on the Mind Core, and place it inside the Nurturing Pod. Then just wait!
5: That's all! Simple enough, right? Then just do it again for the remaining research options.

The Nurturing Pod itself can be found under the Misc tab, unlocked after completing a few of the new research tasks.

After inserting a Mind Core into the Nurturing Pod, it will automatically awake the girl after a few days of being in there. Just make sure it has a constant supply of power.

* Important *
Make sure the colonist you use to place the Crystal inside the Nurturing Pod has at least lvl 2 in intellectual (science).
Anybody lower than this will just immediately fail the task. But no penalties or repercussions for this.

And if you happen to accidentally lose your assistants, dismantle the Nurturing Pod and rebuild it again. This should cause the events to refire so you can get them again.

PS: Most of the research is at Spacer tier. If you want to lower that down to medieval, there's an option included within the mod's settings.

Compatibility with CE (Combat Extended) is unknown for 1.4
I, the translator, assume it isn't. The 1.3 version should remain compatible, however.

Mods that compliment this one well:

Current assistants:
Momona, Nemuri, Ruri, Nonona, Yurika, Ariana, Alpha Zero, Miruko, Miruku, Giwa, Maya, Kasutariri, and Kurumi

In production:
Kasutaria, Suna, Melly, and Eri

Introduction to some of the girls:

The cute girls from the [兽耳助手] software are here to help and keep you company! Each of them represents one of the twelve zodiac signs.

Momona: A young girl with rabbit ears and long hair, she has a strange obsession with carrots and is very concerned about whether she really looks like a rabbit or not. She can be a bit of a ditz and full of arrogance, but below that feisty exterior lies love and attachment.

Nemuri: A small lamb girl with a quiet and reserved disposition, making it difficult to tell what she's thinking about at any given moment. Often found deep in thought, she struggles to express her emotions. Nonetheless, she remembers every kindness shown to her and responds in kind in her own unique way. She carries with her a lamb doll called Baa Baa, and although she is clumsy, she is a very good child who always tries her best. Please don't abandon her and leave her alone.

Ariana: A mechanical life form that looks just like an ordinary girl, except equipped with a special AI. She appears to have been a model designed for both domestic and combat purposes, which might explain her adamant behavior of following you everywhere to "Make sure no harm comes to Master."
Ariana is capable of both companionship and combat capabilities, though her constant safety scans seem to put a strain on her emotional sub-routines. Perhaps because she focuses so much on keeping you safe, some of your actions, like asking her to unwind with you, utterly baffle her. Nonetheless, she secretly cherishes your interactions, aiming to learn more about human behavior.
A little robot named Mint idly floats next to her, always ready to assist Ariana.

Alpha Zero: A mechanical life form that looks just like an ordinary girl, except equipped with a special AI. She seems to have experienced abandonment once before, which may explain why she so strongly remains deeply afraid that you will choose to abandon her some day, too. It's no wonder, then, that this fear has manifested into a fierce loyalty and need to be useful.
Never talking back, always well-behaved, and overly accommodating to your whims, Alpha Zero rarely dares to express her own emotions, regardless of any assurances you might give her. Yet, you can often spot her fondly caring for small plants and animals, when she thinks you aren't looking.
Perhaps you should take her with you to see the world, and by getting to know her better, uncover her mysterious past. In time, maybe she will let herself believe you, when you say that you won't leave her.

Upcoming tasks (2024/2/21)

1. Complete the remaining assistants
2. Exclusive "Hot Springs" related content
3. More favorability rewards
4. And more...

The following text on the Nurturing Pod just means [Days Remaining: 5]
As in, 5 in-game days will have to pass for the Mimikko to hatch from her Crystal.

Here, the top text reads: [Heal old wounds, regenerate missing limbs]
The bottom text reads: [Recovery in 80 Hours]
The Mimikko Assistants will gradually recover broken limbs after a while, and this just lets you know how long until it'll trigger.

To anyone reading;

The 1.5 update to this translation, as of September 2024, isn't a 'true' proper update; I simply copied the translations from version 1.4 into the 1.5 folder. There may be missing translations, but I really hope there aren't, or if there are, that they are few.

Keeping up with all the mods I translate is tough right now, and most of my focus is on my rework of the Anime Armada mod for CK3, which is massive. I love the Mimikko mod—it's adorable and well-made—but I'm sadly only one person.

In the future, I might return for a full revision when I have more time, and give this the proper effort it deserves. Meanwhile, I'm happy to let anyone take the translation I have done for the Mimikko and use it as a basis for their own or just to cross-reference.

@Severe
The original mod is, sadly, not updated to 1.4 currently.
The author has mentioned they plan to do a 1.4 update, but there is currently no ETA on this.
When the 1.4 update is out, I'll go through the mod again and update this translation.
