Description

TEiN: Shattered Spectrum is a fan-made expansion for The End is Nigh.

Features:

As many areas as there are in the base game of TEiN, each containing its own set of mechanics;
450 tumors and 5 new cartridges to collect;
A reasonably smooth difficulty curve;
An entirely new soundtrack[soundcloud.com], composed by Scavenger[scavengersongs.carrd.co];
New cutscenes and lots of other custom visuals SurrealDude helped implement!
A story which ties into the plot of the original game and expands upon it;
One ending;
An ever-present sense of dread.

Every TEiN community member who worked on the Anniversary 1 and Anniversary 2 mods! The version of Shattered Spectrum you see here started out as a combined remake of those two mods and evolved into something completely different over the years. It kept a lot of the Anniversary 2 DNA, including many of its visual themes and some of its level design. And the cartridges are loosely based on certain parts of Anniversary 1.
Everyone else who supported Spectrum's development by contributing assets, helping with balancing, as well as simply playing and talking about the mod!

How difficult is Shattered Spectrum?

Shattered Spectrum is built for players who have beaten the original game and are looking for more TEiN.
The mod starts out slow, with the difficulty being similar to that of the main map of the original game. The difficulty gradually ramps up from there, but should remain manageable even at its peak.
Shattered Spectrum does not feature levels with limited lives (outside of cartridges).

Thanks, I hadn't set it to "Play with mods".

1) Right-click The End is Nigh in your library, then select "Properties"
2) In the Properties menu, click "Workshop". Make sure there's a blue check mark next to Shattered Spectrum.
3) Launch the game and select Play with Mods. A white window will pop up and you select Shattered Spectrum from the list.
4) If you don't get a "Play with Mods" option when you launch the game, then right-click The End is Nigh and select "Properties".
5) Select "General", and then change the drop-down menu next to "Launch Options" to "Play with Mods" or "Ask when starting game".

How do I access the mod in game? I can't find any of the new content.
