High Elf Personality

Description
This mod aims to deepen your immersion by adding new Skills to your High Elf heroes that suggest a history and personality (and even their romantic preferences).

NEW: Many skills offer roleplay-style dilemmas to really make your Heroes feel like authors, artists, and athletes.
See the above graphics for more information.

To create choice (and preserve balance), selecting one of these Skills will lock out many others. Without overpowering the heroes, you should be able to make them more distinctive in a way that helps you tell them apart, and get more attached to them.

I will continue to work on and balance this mod, and welcome all comments and feedback.

Handmaiden
Despite their fearsome reputation as warriors, Handmaidens are not initially selected for their sheer prowess in battle, but for the talents that made them exceptional ladies. Such talents tend towards the artistic, with poets and philosophers just as likely to be selected as archers or athletes.
  • Select any one of nine different talents to define what made this elf-maiden worthy of the Everqueen's retinue. They are: Artist, Athlete, Dancer, Epic Poet, Forester, Harpist, Philosopher, Romantic Poet, or Songstress.

Noble
In addition to becoming an expert at High Elf, Lizardman, or Man's Affairs, your nobles can choose to master Dwarf Affairs, Wood Elf Affairs, Dark Elf Affairs, or Unliving Affairs.
  • Choose what your Noble spends his immense talents and wealth upon: Athlete, Author, Botanist, Couturier, Cult of Luxury, Epic Poet, Lutinest (lute player), Silver Helm, or Vintner.

Mage
Magical study in Ulthuan is no mere art of war, but a field of research entwined with all forms of learning. The Tower of Hoeth may well be considered the finest college in the world, with books on metaphysics, mathematics, and natural philosophy
  • Select any one of twelve different talents to define your mage's field of study. They are: Alchemist, Architect, Astronomer, Botanist, Couturier, Geologist Historian, Mathematician, Natural Philosopher, Occultist, Philosopher, or Violist (viol player).
  • Different schools of mage have access to different Skills.
  • Each school of magic offers an appropriate Attrition immunity to the Mage. For instance, Metal Mages are immune to Mountain attrition, and Life mages are immune to Plague. This only applies to the mage herself.

Loremaster of Hoeth
Loremasters are warrior-scholars, and have a mixture of erudite and violent Skills to offer.
  • In addition to many of the Mage Skills, Loremasters have unique access to the Blade Lord and Suppressor of Cults skills.

I am extremely grateful to Serris, who wrote the text for three of the in-game books your Heroes can publish; to gongoozler and now 玛奇玛, who translated the mod into Chinese; and to the many people giving advice in the Modding Den, especially Cataph.

Up to date!

@Trino K - It isn't designed with SFO balance in mind, but to be honest, I think it's probably totally fine. It adds no units or anything.

@Layth36 - I actually gave it a minor patch as recently as February; I have definitely moved on to WH3 but I like to keep everything working for the WH2 diehards. I'm still happy to fix any issues that may arise. Compatibility with the mod you mention would have to come from the other author, I'm afraid; I know most of them have moved on.

Tested this mod today on Vortex campaign and it still works! It's also save game compatible! However, I was hoping it would work with "Unlock All Skills" mod but sadly it doesn't.

SFO compatible?

I know it's not a new High Elf Personality, but I hope users who were excited to see this in Warhammer 3 will enjoy the High Elf Politics system Rhox and I made in the new The Phoenix Court mod in Warhammer 3. It comes from a similar philosophy as this mod, just on a societal level rather than person-by-person.

@Cegorach - I'm afraid it hasn't yet. I haven't forgotten it, though, and intend to have it out eventually. I unfortunately poured a lot of code into this one that makes it a complex port, and I have gotten much better at modding, too, so I would want to overhaul some aspects of it. I know it's been a long wait.

For the moment you can look forward to a major new WH3 High Elf release from me and Rhox, however, coming soon.

Did this mod ever get ported over to WH3?
