Fenri Wolves

Description
This mod introduces a new playable race called the Fenris Wolf.

Fenri Wolves are not much different than your regular timber wolf, with the exception that they were gentically modified to be extremely intelligent. They have their own culture, and beliefs. They don't care if they eat without a table, but they might mental break if one of their own died in battle, or to a common cold. They are capable of much of the same things that human colonists are capable of, but Fenri Wolves have different needs. They are an extremely proud race, and will never tolerate being treated like mere dogs. They don't like humans because of how their ancestors were subjugated into becoming common house pets, but they will be overjoyed at the thought of chowing down on human raiders. Since humans make a good meal source, it's pretty easy to keep them well fed.

The Fenris' armor textures were kindly provided for use by the author of the mod Animal Armor: Vanilla Thank you so much!!

Optional Compatability (Install after the listed mods, if you so desire):
A Dog Said... Animal Prosthetics
Dubs Bad Hygiene
StuffedDoll[1.0-1.2]

Please let me know if you find any bugs, errors, or incompatibilities. If you have any ideas for compatibility with other mods, make sure to leave a comment!

Known Bugs:
When sleeping in a human bed, the texture wont render correctly. To fix this, please assign them to their special Fenris beds.

On Equipment:
The race's current whitelist is as follows:

Apparel_CowboyHat

Apparel_BowlerHat

Apparel_ArmorHelmetRecon

Apparel_PsychicFoilHelmet

Apparel_SmokepopBelt

Apparel_FenrisPlateArmor

Apparel_FenrisPlateHelmet

Apparel_FenrisScarf

</whiteApparelList>

If there are any hats from other mods that you'd like to be able to equip on them, let me know!

this mod is for version 1.2, but the game is 1.5 right now. it's a shame too, because this seems like a really cool mod. maybe someone could recreate it? I also noticed a version on nexus, but I'm assuming it is for the same version given that was last updated in 2021...

any chance of seeing this updated to 1.4

so far it still seams to work [the pawn functions as a stranded pawn]

oh geeze. I haven't checked if alien races has a fix for custom display of bandages, but I'll look into it some time later when I'm in the mood to mod. Otherwise, the race might just not work anymoreon 1.3

fixing the bandages and eye displaying may be tricky, I got no idea but it sounds like it because of how the race doesn´t follow normal conventions of a humanoid pawn structure like other race mods

Seeing as @keeper did not report back thought I would do that myself, while the mod is technically functional on 1.3, it is broken in multiple aspects so yeah it is not compatible, that is to be expected considering all the changes that 1.3 brought but is good to know to what extent things brake down, all of this without even diving into what potential errors having the ideology DLC may throw into the mix of broken things as I do not own that DLC, with only core and royalty the following is broken:
-Fenri wolves spawn with hair and beards
-The Fenri wolves sprites are slightly cut when looking upwards and side ways
-Some Pawnkinds on the fenrir faction are spawned as humans instead of fenris wolves
-Bandages are as expected broken and displayed on the wrong areas
-Eye implants or missing eyes are as expected broken and are displayed on the wrong areas
Without counting any other potential issues that may be under the hood or that may appear when the ideology DLC is installed

@Keeper I'm not sure hahah. You can try it on a new save and report back to me! Otherwise I'll have a look in a few days :meadowwolf:

is this still compatable in 1.3?

I would love to see more feral races in the future! It's always been a bit boring having nothing but humanoids inhabiting the universe.
