Introduction
Ancient Empire Mod is a late-game/end-game event mod that introduces the story of an ancient civilization that was once mighty but eventually fall for unknown reasons, a series of related technologies, ships, and event mechanics.

In the distant past, there was a mighty civilization, its influence once spread throughout the stars, but there was no unbroken feast in the world, and the ancient civilization eventually disappeared in a long time. After exploring ancient ruins, discovering lost artifacts, collating the research results of predecessors and even contacting the remnants of that distant era, the long-forgotten history of the galaxy gradually becomes known. Along with the story of the ancient civilization, is their technologies that were once developed, and the creations based on those technologies. Will these ancient and advanced technologies lead us into a new era, or will they bring terrible disasters to our galaxy? Only the time will tell us.

Features
  • Introduced a series of long event chains based on late-game/end-game environment, with challenging enemies and related technologies, ships, and more. The ships involved in the event have independent models, textures, effects, and component icons, and have unique combat mechanics that are different from the vanilla.
  • Introduced a shipset with this mod's theme, which can be selected at the beginning of the game, without using other content of this mod, shipset is compatible with NSC.
  • Events Introduced by this mod have a unique dark red UI and a special font that is more visually recognizable. The events added in this mod require player to actively trigger, which usually starts with the excavation of archaeological sites, and the player is free to decide when to start the event chains.
  • Content Introduced by this mod can be configured through the settings menu (usually in the Edict frame), allowing the settings to be adjusted at any time, which can control the strength of this mod's content (this affects both the hostile forces in this mod and the rewards that player acquired from this mod), the earliest trigger time of the mod content, etc.

Contents
Completion of one event chain does not affect the playability of the content of other event chains except in special cases, but because the difficulty of different event chains is different, completing these event chains in different order may differ in difficulty.
  • Primitive Civilizations: Some strange primitive civilizations scattered in galaxy, whose world has high-tech relics that do not match their technological level, may be related to the long-lost ancient civilization. This event chain is a precursor to the subsequent event chain of this mod.
  • Alpha Area: Ringworld witness the last time of an ancient civilization in the galaxy, ancient technologies and histories preserved in it.
  • Beta Area: An ancient psionic research facility that was closed due to an accident, and there are still some ancient artifacts and psionic research results from that era storaged in it.
  • Gamma Area: A large damaged station and a ringworld full of production facilities located in this empty space, containing the equipment, supplies and security forces needed for the expeditions of the ancient civilization.
  • Delta Area: An engineering experiment base of the ancient civilization, the long-abandoned ringworld preserves materials that have not yet been destroyed, and the surrounding space is scattered with many remains left by experiments.
  • Epsilon Area: A station with powerful shield stands alone in an empty space, and the defenses of the fallen empire try to stop anyone who wants to get closer, maybe they find something important there?
  • Zeta Area: A quarantined area guarded by the defenses of the ancient civilization, littered with the remains of countless wars, the ancient civilization seem to be quaranting the area and trying to maintain the shield that cover the ringworld.
  • Eta Area: An ancient transportation center, the remoteness of which makes some of its important facilities fortunately enough to survive the decline of the ancient civilization.
  • Theta Area: An astronomical observatory that appears ancient to the ancient civilization themselves, which used it to explore unknown universe. This event chain is precursor to the mod's events except for primitive civilizations, wanderers, and other small events.
  • Iota Area: An ancient archive chronicles a bygone time, and its maintainers want to communicate with the outside world to trade the resources they need.
  • Kappa Area: An abandoned ancient computer surrounding the star in the area, telling the history of the system and the secrets buried within it.
  • Wanderer: An ancient ship that was launched into the galaxy beyond our galaxy a long time ago. It has a powerful defense system that depends on other structures in the galaxy.
  • Other Small Events: Series of short event chains, anomalies, special projects, including Starlight-II, Tactical Support Ship, Advanced Colonizer, Science Constructor, Dimensional Obelisk, Extragalactic Exploration ...
  • More Contents Coming Soon.

Would this be compatible with L-Cluster Plus; systems and digsites will still spawn despite being in the L-gate cluster?

This mod seems really cool but I can't include it in my load order. Historical Research completely unbalances the game. It seems like the mod is in active development so I hope that this perk will be rebalanced.

If you have consumer goods deficit at the start of the game, update the mod or remove common/strategic_resources/00_strategic_resources.txt.bak.

lol yeah, historical research completely trivializes research
The Archeaology Tradition needs some tweaks.
One notable gives research based on stored artifacts, which easily produces thousands of research, completely destroying balance.
