Description
Research overhaul mod. This mod increases impact of technology research on some basic gameplay aspects. The pacing of village expansion and and technological development gets linked to the advancement in the tech tree. Features: New research/school building (academy), extended tech tree, research dependent production and building upgrading.
*!* This mod is recommended for experienced players *!*

NEW AND IMPROVED RESERACH MECHANICS:

* Research dependent production: Many advanced craft recipes have to be researched before they are available at a craft building (see tech tree at a research building or in the screenshots)

* Research dependent building upgrades: Research architecture, well digging, and ship construction before buildings can be upgraded to their highest stage, wells can be dug deeper, and ship expeditions can be started (well upgrades are included in this mod)

* Research conditions: The more advanced research technologies now require an upgraded research building (see tech tree

* Improved research perks:
- Production research ("Specialized craft", "Apprentisship", "Artisan guilds") now accelerates the production if non-food and non-tool resources like fuel, clothes, flour, metal, as well as resources from other mod.
- Agricultural research ("Serfdom", "Crop rotation", "Manorial land tenure") now increases the planting and harvesting speed *** and improves honey production in apiaries.
- Animal breeding research ("Husbandry", "Pasture rotation", "Bloodlines") now also increases the production if fish farms ***

*** If the mod "Spoilage & Fertilisation" is being used, this bonus is deactivated due to mod incompatibiliy.

* Research bonus: Study the laws of nature and science to accelerate all other research.

NEW RESOURCE: Books
Research is done with base knowledge, coming in the form of BOOKS
With some books on hand, academics no longer need to experiment blindly, wasting tons of vakuable ressorces.
* Sources:
- Can be purchased at the castle market or other trade building (mod: trade dock)
- Occasionally, an educated craftsperson will compile the experience from decades in the craft into a book.


NEW BUILDING: Academy

* This is a new research building with one upgrade, providing many (not all) research technologies. The technological advancement of a town can be achieved without building a castle keep.

* The academy doubles as a school. While a technology is being researched, one worker will continue to teach any attenting children, and joins the research efforts if no children need teaching.


SAVEGAME COMPATIBILITY:

*This mod is compatible with existing savegames.
Is is recommended to start a new game or to chose a young savegame in order to fully experience the changes to the gameplay.

* When using this mod with an existing savegame:
- Craft buildings that were producing ressources that become research dependent with this mod will continue the production, but the recipe will no longer be selectable until the respective reserach is completed.
- Newly constructed buildings can not produce research dependent ressources unless the respective reserach is completed.
- Upgraded buildings stay upgraded, but upgrading further buildings requires the respective reserach to be completed.


MINOR IMPROVEMENTS :

* The production duration of a craft will be diplayed immediately when it is selected in the building interface. It is no longer neccessary to lock a recipe in to see its production time.

* Research buildings provide an image of the tech tree.

* The animations for different field work is more appropriate for the active crop *** If the mod "Spoilage & Fertilisation" is being used, this is deactivated due to mod incompatibiliy.

Omme - Danke für die Neujahrswünsche, und Sorry für die späte Antwort, habe deine letzte Nachricht erst jetzt gesehen. Resettete Forschungen habe ich bisher noch nie gehört, dasklingt wie ein Bug beim Speichern, denn eigentlich werden die Forschungen in die Spieldaten fix reingeschrieben sobald sie abgeschlossen sind (Sonst wüsste das Game im laufenden Spiel nicht, wenn man zB vor 2 Minuten eine Forschung fertig hat). Und beim Speichern müssten die gesamten Spieldaten mit gespeichert werden. Keine Ahnung, was da schief gelaufen sein könnte, ehrlich gesagt. Sind sämtliche Forschungen futsch oder nur ab einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt oder so? Und hast du irgendwelche Mods, die was mit den Speicherständen zu tun haben?

Danke Megadori! :) Nun habe ich gerade meinen Spielstand geladen und alle Forschungen sind resettet?! Hast du eine Idee was da los ist oder was ich machen kann? und P.S. gesundes neues Jahr dir! :D

Lvl 200 mage nohacks - For quicker research, open the file megadori_monastery.lua and edit line 343 where it sais "local workTime = 15000" A lower number means the reserachers will take less time to complete their research

Omme - Den Mod für die Holzfestung brauchst du nicht um die abgestützten Stollen zu erfoschen, das Sternchen im Techtree bedeutet, dass diese Forschung aber in der Holzfestung, falls vorhanden, zur Verfügung steht. Ebenfalls ist die Forschung in der normalen Steinfestung sowie der ausgebauten Akdemie verfügbar.

Sie dient dazu schneller die Verteidigungsfunktionen der Festung nutzen zu können bevor man sich eine Steinfestung leisten kann, und kann später zur Steinfestung ausgebaut werden.

Hi Megadori! Zuersteinmal Hut ab für diesen tollen Mod!! Ich würde gerne den gesicherten Stollen erforschen, benötige dafür aber, wenn ich es richtig verstanden habe ein Mod "Holzfestung". Hast du einen link zu diesem? Grüße Omme

Disturbance20 - Sadly, the spoilage mod has been abandoned by its creator, and as only the original creator can upload updates, the co-creaters can't maintain it. Unfortunately we can't reach them, and feel uncomfortable with reuploading the mod without the original creator's permission. I hope you understand :)

where is the spoilage mod. I cannot find it, but that sounds great and way more realistic. Meat should not last two years. Is it one of yours and the name has changed, or maybe incorporated into another mod?
