The latest from the Light Frigate shipyards. Based off of the tried and tested LFG hull design the LFR features several enhancements built in thanks to feedback from the fleet.

Better acceleration. Right off the bat the trained observer can tell that forward thrust is doubled based off the LFG hull designs. Such a boost was this that Space Engineers ammended the plans for all future Light Frigates to support this power plant.

Nimble. She is better equiped to pitch and roll than her sister ships. Her anti capital rail assembly is heavily dependent on alighnment of the entire ship for firing. As such LFR's can twist and turn at an incredible rate.

Armored. While the LFG was designed to keep cost down the LFR almost broke the bank. More armor is spread more genrously throughout the ship. Note that all combat versions of the Light Frigate line were meant to fight bow on as it provides the most armored cross section and lowest profile toward the enemy.

Q/A:

1] Why is the bottom red? This hails back to when ships sailed on oceans. The red color would extend from the keel of a ship to the waterline. Even though these ships sail between worlds traditions carry over for generations. Also it assists in letting others know which end is up.

2] Is it broken? I don't think so. Reality is everyone has their own specific setup so I left the template blank for you to configure pretty much as needed. Enjoy!

3] What is with that coloring? My favorite Color Scheme from homeworld. I have been playing that game since 1999 and thought i would try to bring it back a litle bit. That and I think I had a nerf gun my son left out nearby.

4] What was that station? That is the WIP Light Frigate Shipyard. You will see two constructions bays and two projects within. Gives me something to break up the time with especially as I am waiting for the Jump Drives to be processed by the assembler on the asteroid base. once completed the Station will be published as well, and will be able to outfit all Light Frigates.
