599 Hours played
I can strongly recommend Baldur's Gate 3 as a video gamer, table-top RPGer and DM. It's an amazing adaptation of D&D 5E with a few tweaks for PC. I have not been beyond Act 1. I keep getting distracted by new characters, new NPC interactions, and the endless possibilities I am confronted with. I have talked to people, monsters, bears, birds, dogs, oxen, rats, squirrels, and the dead. I have played fetch with a dog, and been bitten by a vampire. I can't express how little I have done, and yet so much in 60 hours.

My first character was a 23-hour investment in learning how to play the game. It's complex, but you can play casually. Just select the appropriate difficulty. I have encountered a couple of inventory and dialogue bugs. I had one crash to desktop. It's surprisingly stable on my old rig from 2016, which was never more than a mid tier machine at best. I happen to have a steam deck too, and it is gorgeous on it. The co-op runs beautifully too. My brother and I had a blast with the Nautiloid. I can't wait to see how our characters progress together.

I have a few minor complaints:
1) I don't think the storage containers function well. They have a great idea with a dedicated alchemy pouch, key ring, and food bag, but I would like to assign storage. If I could name containers and send loot to them like I do party members or have rules to automatically place loot in specific containers, it would greatly reduce the time I spend in camp and at merchants.
2) Party swapping is a nightmare. I have seen better from games made 20 years ago. I should not need to walk up to a character, have to chat with them, and suffer through them asking essentially, "Are you sure?" to dismiss them. Then I have to walk to the other character and ask them to join up. A simple party selection screen would be much better. It would save so... much... time.
3) How am I going to stop playing this? I haven't owned it for a week, but I already logged over 60 hours.

EDITS:

The November 30th patch really improved party storage. Container storage still needs improvement. It's so exciting to have active developers make quality improvements.

Party swapping was greatly improved in patch 6. It just keeps getting better.

I have over 600 hours in game. I finished 1 campaign. I have 7 more in act 1. Co-op is excellent, and split screen is fun, when it works. Larian makes you work for that. It's locked out of steam deck by default, but some videos show a Vulkan work around. I couldn't make it work. Playing on PC required two controllers for split screen. I really don't know why. Did I mention this game is absolutely huge. Like there are places and things I know I haven't seen playing 1 game for 600 hours. I am going to keep on rolling. Best of luck to you.
