This is truly an Ode to Castlevania.

The amount of love for the Castlevania series put into this $4 expansion is greater than everything Konami has done with it in the last 15 years. The store page advertises 20+ characters and 40+ weapons, but the amount you actually get is more than triple that, every character has their own unique abilities and flavor and you get to play as everyone and everything from Simon to a Fleaman to Dracula himself with crazy weapons. The map, already huge with plenty of secrets to discover like a proper Dracula's Castle, is almost doubled in size once you get the ending of the expansion, it's a genuine struggle to actually get through everything even with Hyper on, which is saying something when you can potentially be idling to the 30 minute mark at the 15 in pretty much every other map in the game. The music is fantastic, each character has their own remixed track from their respective games that pumps you up. The finale is absolutely beautiful, the music, boss, spectacle, and little meta aspects left me with a huge smile on my face, and the credits transitioning right back to the title screen from a sunrise on Dracula's Castle to show everything else there is to do and all the characters you just unlocked made me shed a tear.

Overall fantastic, this could have easily been its own spinoff game.

An overall enjoyable collection of games.

The 1st is decent, very short but gimmicky and shallow. The humor is cute and tongue in cheek, but there's not much substance to be had.

The 2nd is much more substantial. It starts off slower and a bit weaker than the 1st game but after a few hours it really picks up. The gimmick sections are much more developed with their own intricacies and the writing is more focused on genuine storytelling rather than relying on strictly reference humor.

Overall enjoyable once you get a couple fixes running to stop the crashes.

It's one of the few modern remakes of an NES era game that does the name justice, controls are awkward at first since there's no dedicated jump button, but once you figure out how to swing around and get where you need to go, it's a lovely action platformer with a lot of charm.

A fantastic roguelite deckbuilder in an age where those words would otherwise make you wince. It's snappy, addictive, and has a fantastic presentation with the poker theme, trippy backgrounds, and jazzy soundtrack.

Very cute little Pokemon Snap style game, the systems are simple but effective, and the game is oozing with charm.

A fantastic short horror story about Taking Responsibility and a man who goes a long way to do the exact opposite.

Another short and cute little 3D platformer, this time with more mechanics and levels.

Shoutouts to Ending 1 for being one of the most painful trainwrecks of a Bad End I've ever read through in a VN.
Also the rest of it is nice too, good romance/drama for all the HMOFA lovers out there.

An overall enjoyable experience. Not as good as 1 or 2, but a nice step up from the portable games. Note that I played through the game on Critical difficulty with no codes active.

The combat is mostly good with some bad mixed in. The base moveset the game gives you in 3 is pretty lackluster, it's not really until you start ReMind that you unlock a nice bit of combo finishers and utility moves that would have been very nice to have going through the game proper. Sora is much more floaty in 3 compared to any other game in the series, out of the gate you start with the ability to infinitely stay in the air while comboing an enemy, which was impossible in the other games, as a combo finisher would end your ability to keep attacking, there's pretty much no point in the game where you ever want to stay on the ground in a fight as it just leaves you more open and vulnerable. The magic system has some new additions with Water and elemental effects (which were in 0.2) as well as the Za spells that can trigger with enough use when you fill the form gauge, decent overall but I would have liked a new utility spell since Cure operates same way as 2 where it eats up your entire MP bar. The Form Change mechanic is fantastic, a cool evolution of Drive Forms and BBS's Form Changes, each keyblade has a (usually) unique transformation and alternate moveset (sometimes 2) that you unlock by getting enough hits off on enemies. Shotlocks also make a return from BBS (and 0.2) and are just as broken. A big detractor is the attractions, they pop up occasionally when fighting enemies and just make the experience tedious, you become almost fully invincible and mash through hoards of enemies in a barely interactive cut scene while vomiting particle effects everywhere, the only times they don't appear is when you're fighting bosses sans some finales. Partners are mostly useless aside from the occasional buddy command or bit of healing, gone are the days of Kingdom Hearts 1 Donald and Goofy carrying your ass hard, at least they've got a lot of personality and fun voice lines.

The levels are for the most part fantastic, they're well sized with nice bits of both platforming and puzzles, each is very distinct in design from the linear action packed Monstropolis to the wide open and non-linear Caribbean, and exploring around looking for Lucky Emblems and Treasures is a treat. The Pixar worlds are the best of the bunch here, they're entirely original stories that act as pseudo-sequels and tie into the Kingdom Hearts themes and story as a whole very nicely, you can tell a lot of work and effort went into them. On the other hand you have the Disney Princess movie worlds, Arendelle and Corona, which are just straight retellings of the movies where Sora might as well be a fly on the wall, their level design is still nice, but pacing and story wise the worlds are a big letdown.

The story is frankly terrible. It tries to tie every single piece of Kingdom Hearts media together into something resembling a finale and it comes out much worse for it. There's so many characters everywhere popping in and out, it can give you a headache, and even appearances from mobile game stuff in part of the finale, Deus Ex Machina-ing Sora from death while you get to watch a bunch of usernames fly by you. Not only that, but it then gives the main antagonist of the series a happy ending for some god forsaken reason while also killing off Sora (a convenient power reset for 4 I assume, but frustrating story wise) instead of giving him a happy ending like 1 and 2 did. And on top of all that, there's no Final Fantasy characters to be seen anywhere aside from a few seconds of cutscenes in the DLC.

The DLC is not very good overall. The ReMind portion just takes you through the finale of the game again with minor alterations in fights (you can play as Kairi in the new final boss which is neat) and one extra sub area which is nicely constructed with some puzzle elements and good level layout. There's also some added fan-wank which is whatever. The Limit Cut portion though feels like all the worst parts of BBS trying to emulate the best parts of 2. The data fights feel extremely cheesy with bosses constantly teleporting, firing millions of homing projectiles at you, launching long uninterruptible combo strings, all while staying mostly invincible and becoming vulnerable at seemingly arbitrary points. The Data fights in 2 Final Mix were fantastic on Critical, but these just feel awful to try to get through.
