This is a classic open world type game with a unique setting and world. The overall plot is a bit crappy and disjointed and the ending seems to have been grafted on to the story but the exploration build up and missions are great.
If you liked any of the GTA series or UBI's contributions to the genre you would be well served to play one of the originals.
Give the graphics a chance, the 3d world is well rendered but remember this is a 2006 PS2 game.

The best game ever made. Why play anything else.

Fez is an Anti-game game. It is a puzzle instead. The platforming, jumping, and maneuvering are all for one purpose - to get to the puzzles that need to be solved in the new game + mode.

It looks like a 2.5d platformer, but in the end, there are ciphers, obtuse observation puzzles, and QR codes that need to be solved. The are difficult, and require patience and relaxed time.

A game to be played while drinking a glass of red wine or port, and relaxing by the warm fire of your computer's processor while your brain slowly bakes in the overheated bytes.

A rating? A great game, but not...for...everyone.

This is now an Old Game. I played it when it came out and quit after a gamebreaking bug. I have now replayed it and completed it.
The games tomb levels and general climbing swinging and jumping puzzles are excellent. The bronze,silver,and gold cross collecting gives an extra challenge if wanted.
But the combat, oooh. It stinks. Terrible. Almost to the point of ruining the game.
The boss fights are crappy. One of the bosses glitched on a ledge. I walked up to him and plugged away until he was dead. Weak sauce.
The quicktime events suck but aren't so arduous as to destroy the game. Standard pre 2010 stuff.
The story is suprisingly good with relevant cinematics. Lara's character is well fleshed out, so to speak.

What is worth my time? Yes, but then I haven't played the current generation Tomb Raiderses. This is a short game as well so not a big committment if you don't like it. Cheap as dirt these days as well.

Some random irritants - occasional game breaking glitches and bugs. Inablility to wear an outfit on a level until it has been beaten once. I don't plan to go back and replay the levels.
8/10. Worth a look at the right price.

Kind of a dumb game, but good for relaxing when you feel brain dead. Puzzles are easy enough to float through and there is a story here as well. Low frustration level so you are unlikely to punch your screen. Nancy Drew for grownups, but somehow easier than the HER games. Good for a couple hours of clicking. 7.5

This is the best FP perspective game I have ever played. Each section took me ages as I tend to be completist and went full stealth. The only drawback of the game is hand to hand and pistol combat being fairly monotonous. The best part of the game is the gradual release of information to the player about the nature of the society they are acting in. Rather than straight exposition, the world and the characters and values of the NPC's are given gradually and are realized by close observation. At the start of the game it isn't clear how the plot will progress, or if you are good or evil. The choices made during the game write the store. The only drawback to the game is the obvious plot turn near the end, and the too happy ending on low chaos.
