This game has been going for longer than most, and every few years i come back to it. Why? i dont know!
The UI is overly complex and clunky, the graphics are decent but nothing special, the gameplay is so deep and obtuse that i can barely understand it even now!
but the promise of the game, and the community within it, are so wildly unique that there is simply nothing else out there that can do what this game does. Is it a good game? I'm still not sure! but trying to figure that out is still keeping me coming back.

Fun gameplay loop, can be very easy or very hard depending on how you play (no restarts & hard difficulty is very tough), expect to micro your units a bit. replayability is good with randomly generated maps, but the unit types and enemies do get repetitive. great to play in between other things.

Just one more island... this game is more addictive than cocaine. If you have OCD than this game will give you a raging red one.

Great game, a little too simplified for my taste but everything it tries to do, it does right.

My only gripe is that the game is a little too one-sided when it comes to who you kill and who you save, there aren't any hard choices to make until you are really starting to starve to death.
As far as replayability they recently added a new "make your own scenario" editor into the game, albeit a little simple, it still lets you try new things. However after your first playthrough you pretty much know everything. I would like more random events that dont necessarily all show up in one playthrough.

8/10 great but room for improvement.

Phenominal. The storytelling and choice-driven dialogue in this game is the best ive seen yet. By far the greatest achievement for Telltale.
Gameplay is a hybrid between point & click style and more modern quick-time events and free-aiming. It's a bit of a confusing mash-up, but it works.
12 hours in total, this game is worth every penny that i spent on it and more. Frikkin buy it.

The closest thing to a RTS that i can enjoy. This pseudo turn-based strategy, mixed with some base management, is a fun breakaway from my usual FPS games. It rewards planning, while still being able to throw you a curveball.

There are complaints of it being buggy as sh*t, and it is. I have only noticed a couple game-breaking bugs, most i've been able to ignore. There are times when enemies are able to shoot you through walls, or the line of sight is broken. These are very frustrating (especially when you are playing on Ironman Classic or higher).

Multiplayer is bareboned, clearly an afterthought in the design proccess. And although you are able to get matches every now and then, the netcode is weak at best, and the game is just as buggy against real enemies as it is against AI.

Having played multiple campaigns of this game now, i can easily say it is one of my top games for 2013. Addicting and rewarding, when you can avoid the bugs.

A short title but oh-so sweet. This game is another example of how well games can execute a message or idea in a way no other medium can. The $10 price is a little steep considering it took me only 6 hours to complete. However, considering the richness of the content, i do not regret my purchase one bit.

This game is a perfect example of two different genres of gaming merging in a way that benefits the game, instead of just being a selling point (e.g: z0mg rpgfpsmmo plzbuy!!!1!)

Faster Than Light is Primarily a roguelike game, moving from "room" to "room", taking risks and calculated decisions, all the while seeing how far you can go. Along-side this, it is also a highly customizable RTS, focusing on "maintenance". Because your ship is manned by actual crewmembers, you need to micromanage their roles and needs, keeping them alive. Its a great synergy between the two elements; The ship blows up, they die. They die, the ship can't work.
Normally i would hate the RTS element of this game, but the ability to pause time and issue commands allows that stress of micromanagement to take a backseat, and some really cool decisionmaking to take place.
There are many other bits and bobs that make this game just stand out that much more, but i DO have a character limit. Buy it.
