pros:

- does SCP real?
- beautiful
- excellent story, with a huge amount of world building.
- destructible landscape + impact of firearm give combat real weight
- feels very current/next-gen, runs and moves smoothly
- live-action cut scenes and Alan Wake nods seamlessly integrate into narrative
- nice juxtaposition between sterile office space and ineffable, reality-warping cosmic metamorphosis

cons:

- convoluted skill / weapon upgrade system
- AI dumb as bricks
- you'll run out of inventory space very fast
- balancing could have used some work, very easy with just basic moves, no difficulty modifier
- map lacks waypoints system but i'll forgive it as the devs probably wanted player to explore surroundings more


Despite the flaws, the game is still a solid 8/10. I might be biased, being an author for the materials that inspired it... but if you like shadowy government agencies keeping the anomalous out of the public eye ala Men in Black or Cabin in the Woods, you'll like playing Control.
