Best fetch quest I ever invested 28 hours into, but probably could have had a similar experience by reading the fandom wiki while walking back and forth between my local train station and my computer 100 times

Despite finishing this and putting in 36 hours, I kinda hated it. It's a ridiculous game, frequently causing me to exclaim out loud "this is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid". The tone is so inconsistent it's laughable, the story a boring impenetrable tangle of rubbish (infuriatingly without a good pay off at the end, which was the only reason I stuck around), and the game design deeply repetitive. What is it with Japanese developers and lengthy, unskippable scenes/animations/nonsense???? Absurd, tedious, uncomfortably weird at times.

Similar to the vibe of Gone Home, despite a VERY different setting, in that it plays on how we've been conditioned to expect jump scares and horror from exploring an empty-ass space shuttle where some kind of unknown disaster has happened. A short, but genuinely interesting sci-fi story set in a well-realised world.

Most excellent. Fluid, natural feeling controls and movement, satisfying boss fights, good platforming, and a very good looking and sounding game. Interesting lore too and a bittersweet, slightly creepy story that is told in a minimal way. Very, very good game.

Enjoyed this a lot. Very dark. Genuinely quite creepy. Clever both mechanically and narratively. Worth the wait

This had potential, and I was intruiged that David Firth (of Fat-Pie fame) was in it, but it's just a bit too rough and not really that fun - the story's not strong enough to carry it.

Pretty cool game. Intimidating at first as it's completely minimilist in terms of how it teaches you to play, or tells you the story - in fact I don't think there's a single line of text in the game - it's all told through pictures and interpretation. I found it really dificult at first but once I started to understand the mechanics through trial and error I began to enjoy myself. Some really sweet pixel graphics, and a fun fluid combat system. Tonnes of clever secrets to find.

Improved over its predecessor in that it feels much less like one long QTE, and that there were actually some tombs to raid (probably the most fun part of the game, and yet entirely optional). There's still some niggling issues though - it's a very easy game throughout, even on harder dificulties, but then there's a weird dificulty spike near the end that was frustrating. Relatively long load times in places - annoying if you have to replay a section becuase Lara decides to jump into a chasm for no apparent reason. Writing is pretty hackneyed and dull. Hunting/forraging remains a repetitive slog. Competent game, but 88/100 metacritic seems generous. Glad I got it on sale.

"Stardew Valley is a retro-style farming simulator that's somewhat reminiscent of Harvest Moon. Oh sorry, I read that wrong: Stardew Valley IS Harvest Moon" - Yahtzee

This game gets under your skin. I expected a nice relaxing experience that I could get a few hours of fun with and then get bored of, but ConcernedApe has hit some kind of magic formula that is just incredibly compelling. You do reach a point where money isn't really an object any more and you don't have any real reason to keep playing other than to go down the SERIOUSLY anal and OCD path of perfecting everything about your farm, but for me that point came after 64 hours of gameplay. I did not see that coming.
