EDIT: Two months and it's already 35% off? Shouldn't have bought this. It was fun while playing it, but overall very forgettable. The most memorable thing is the beautiful world, but that's not enough to hold up somewhat bland combat & a very interesting but somewhat normal story.

If you're playing on anything above 1080p I cannot recommend this to you. Everything works great at 1080 but the minute you raise the resolution to anything above this the audio completely desyncs during cutscenes. Not only does it desync, the cutscenes will end as soon as the audio finishes, even if there is still video & animation left. This makes it impossible to follow the story.

I am currently lowering it to 1080 to play, but this shouldn't even be an issue with a big budget game. It works, but 1080 on a 2k monitor looks kinda trashy. It's definitely not the way the game is meant to be played. It wwrks, but it's far from ideal.

I wish steam ad a middle review because I would like to recommend it to anyone who plays on a 1080p monitor or those who don't entirely mind bumping down the resolution on higher res monitors. Unless you are one of these people, wait on this one a week or two and keep your eyes on updates and patches for a fix to this because it is pretty awful.

Very good. Cthulhu, dank combat, gorgeous visuals, and satisfying combat. The levels get more detailed and intricate as it goes on, and the boss fights are satisfying. But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, that art style.

Really excited to see where this one goes, solid start for an early access indie game. This retro revival lately has been so damn nice.

Really enjoying this one! Finally a damn good licensed game! Great story, the pacing is on point, combat is challenging and interesting, exploration is really dynamic using all the team members in clever and unique ways, the dialogue & banter feels organic and really fleshed out, and the soundtrack absolutely slaps.

A solid 9/10 so far.

No spoilers. Just play it. It's extremely unique. A must-play.

Absolutely excellent. The storytelling, the lore, the flow, artstyle, music, gameplay, everything. Just a perfect game. There's nothing bad to say about it.

It hurts to give this a thumbs down.

Honestly was hoping for more content. Great puzzles, polished, a little on the easy side, but I've got through the egyptian sequence in under an hour. Too quick for the price, and the rational that players will create more rooms (which is a great option to have btw) seems a bit of a cop-out for what feels like a very small experience. Maybe they get harder, but the egyptian levels are really really easy. I can't see how I would want to replay this either, unless I rely on user made community maps, but that's later down the line.. I'm not one who is going to spend time making them so currently I'm going to refund and maybe wait, money is tight and was hoping for more than what seems to be a 3 hour experience for $15.

I played the entire Egypt section which is presented as a third of the levels in the game so logic leads one to assume that if it takes 50 minutes to complete that it's not going to take much longer to finish the rest.

Also, achievements are broken which was a bummer.

Beautiful & chill. Refreshing to have a game focused on the journey and the minutiae of experience rather than grind & end-game. Very Zen. A lot of fun to explore and RP in a bit now that the servers are working. People harping on it for "lack of multiplayer interaction" are sort of missing the point that space serves in the game. It's not an MMORPG, it's a TMORPG (tiny multiplayer online) for a reason. If you want to consistently play in a group, find someone or some people to start characters together that enter the world from the same Wind direction, otherwise remember that player-to-player interaction is more akin to a game like Journey than something like WoW.

Would recommend if you want to support something unique & enjoy walking and exploration games with beautiful environments.

Eh. For what it is it really doesn't even look that good in action. Screenshots look sooooo much better than it does in game. A bit blurry and disappointing.

Legit just get the original working and mod it, it looks better.

UPDATE 2: Found a solution to the audio stuttering! It must be a memory leak, or a problem with how the textures load BUT when I turn the texture down to High from Very High or Ultra the audio runs buttery smooth. All the other settings are on Ultra w/ raytracing enabled. Finally can play!

Update 1: After patch: Audio worked fine, but after the patch the audio stutters so much that it's unplayable. Absolutely miserable experience. Game runs smooth, looks good, audio stutter is atrocious. Recent patch broke the game for me.

Haven't dug too much into it because I'm saving it for the next game I stream but wanted to see if it ran okay.

Verdict?

Runs great on a 2080ti with a Ryzen 9 3900x! Smooth & the character models look great imo. Some have said they look but I personally dig them. It's a liiiiittle blurry sometimes, not sure what graphics setting is causing that, and ray tracing is a little dark sometimes, but overall, great quality and runs nice.

The ending had me hating it and then loving it, but all in ways I enjoyed in the end.

Basically ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ excellent. Awesome narrative, pacing, symbolism, character development, world building, & great gameplay to boot. More than a walking sim. The boss fights are a bit easy, but a lot of fun.

Excited to see what they do with a sequel!

9/10
