I love this game. I was already prepared to like it, but even those expectations were blown away. Halfway through it takes an unexpected turn, and towards the end it gets even better. Beautiful, colourful, funny, good music...

In a game like this, I usually dread melee combat, and partake in it purely to move to next section, but once you get the hang of it, the combat here has a really nice flow to it, and actually presents a good challenge.

My only gripes with this game are really a result of it's console origins. The restrictive nature of the platforming is really disappointing. It FEELS good, because the animations are so smooth and fast, but there's no more to it then jumping to the next glowing thing on the wall. Which is a shame because I think this game could have really benifited from more open platforming. The mouse aiming is also pretty bad.

The options menu is a joke, but if you're willing to dive into .ini files and your graphics card settings, you can get this game to look absolutely stunning.

Definitely worth playing!

Disappointingly un-terrifying.

After the first couple of fights with a necromorph they stop being scary. Sure there are plenty of jump-scares, but due to the terrible pacing you get desensitized to them pretty quickly. Full of plot-holes, bad characterization, completely unoriginal story…

Honestly the best thing about this game was the sound design. The atmospheric bangs and clangs of necromorphs running through vents above you, roaring in the distance, orchestral stings and satisfying gun sounds add a lot to what is otherwise a very bland gaming experience. Unfortunately a lot of the sounds seem to be in low bitrate, which is a shame.

It’s also a lot of fun to dismember necromorphs with the plasma cutter. If it wasn’t for the terrible mouse controls I’d be hard pressed not to recommend this game just for that.

Great art, fantastic music and some oldschool challange towards the end of the game.

Would recommend to pretty much anybody. Especially anyone that liked old 2d platformer shooters like Jazz Jackrabbit.

This is a lot of fun. Probably the most enjoyable rhythm game I've ever played. But it's so incredibly short (45 minutes) and it left me wanting more.

I do reccomend this game, but get it on sale.

They cut out the music. ♥♥♥♥ that.

It's the same great game, plays the same, on low-res mode it looks the same.

But they didn't include any music. From either the SNES or Gensis versions. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

It's a huge testament to the game that I still liked it despite having spent more time getting my controller to work with it than actually playing it.

This game is just not worth playing without a gamepad/controller. I'm a huge PC gamer who loves keyboard and mouse controls, and this is the first time I have ever thought that a game couldn't be played properly without a controller. But this game only supports Xbox 360 controllers natively, so unless you have one, I would have a look online to see if someone else has gotten your controller to work with the game before buying it.

That aside, this game is visually beautiful, sonically perfect, immersive, heart wrenching and a joy to play. The world and varying environments are very dynamic and the journey through them feels like an epic quest. Almost Hobbit-esque. (The soundtrack helps with that.)

The puzzles and challenges are incredibly easy, but require just enough thought to keep your interest. Challenge, however, is clearly not the focus here. The story is, and this game EXCELLS at interactive story telling. I was sceptic about all the hype this game was getting, but for the most part I think it actually deserved it.

This game is much darker than I expected. Outwardly it has a cartoonist (although beautiful) aesthetic, but it deals with mortality, suicide and grief in a surprisingly mature way.

What really makes this game though, is the sheer amount of polish that has gone into it. This is clearly someone's baby, someone's vision, and they executed it marvellously.

If you have a controller, buy this game.

This has to be one of my favourite games I've ever played. The mod was brilliant, and this only improves on the formula. A game unlike any other, and probably unlike any game to come. If there ever is a game that replicates this one it will most likely be terrible because of the absolutely unique nature of this game.

It's funny, charming, sometimes creepy and most of all intriguing. You can sprint to the simplest ending in about 5 minutes, but there is actually about 5 hours of content here. There are so many endings and secrets; even after exploring everything I could possibly think of, the wiki revealed I had still completely missed quite a few.

I'm tired of hearing this refereed to as a “non-game” or a “walking simulator.” There are games that could reasonably argued to deserve such a title (Dear Esther, for example) but games like Proteus and The Stanley Parable are defiantly undeserving of this label. Exploration, discovery and the choices you make are far more important then actual mechanics of moving around. And The Stanley Parable in particular actually has distinct narratives you can follow. It's a game.

This game isn't for everyone, but it's definitely for me. As long as you know what kind this game ISN'T (puzzle, adventure, shooter etc.) before playing, you'll have a wonderful and memorable experience.

This game was exactly what I hoped it would be. A well designed puzzle-platformer with time mechanics. The game isn't very long, but it is definitely a case of quality over quantity. There are a few levels that get repeated, but I think it is done in a very interesting way; it doesn't feel like filler.

There is a deeper meaning to this game if you choose to look for it. But it's main strength is the quality of the puzzles. Some of them are ingenious, and most of them have very simple yet abstract solutions.

One of the most satisfying puzzle games I have played in a long while.

Steam says I've played this game for 161 hours. Either I have a lot of perseverance or I really... really enjoy this game. Addictive, colourful, addictive, creative, great soundtrack and addictive. It's also, I might add, really, really addictive. You will BINGE on this game. And there is a ♥♥♥♥-tonne of content. I haven't even done everything there is to do. Every time I think I've done EVERYTHING there is to do they bring out ANNOTHER ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ UPDATE WITH HOURS AND HOURS OF MORE CONTENT FOR FREE.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥ YOU.

I LOVE THIS GAME.

∞/10
