Great story and characters, expansive open-world with lots to see, looks fantastic for a game from 2018. The story can be a bit slow but I think that's a good thing, gives more time to develop characters.

Doom 2016 was an undeniable masterpiece, an incredibly finely tuned experience. Doom Eternal iterates on Doom 2016 by adding a bunch of ♥♥♥♥. Any new mechanic or system the devs dreamed up was just slammed straight into the game with little to no regard for how it would affect the wider experience. The levels are a slog and the forced platforming is not fun at all. The "lore" that they've forced into the game is unnecessary at best and groan-inducing at worst. Last of all, the Bethesda ♥♥♥♥ crammed all over the joint is annoying, as is all of the live-service game elements.

In conclusion, if you're looking for more Doom just replay Doom 2016.

Stunning graphics, compelling story and production, decent difficulty curve and solid mechanics. A very hard, very pretty, very interesting and very rewarding game!

From a technical perspective this is a well-made port which looks good, performs well and includes many quality-of-life improvements. HOWEVER it is also still Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, a game full of VERY long and complicated levels with various amounts of mandatory back-tracking. Personally I still enjoy it, mostly as nostalgia having played the game originally on N64. But if you've never played Turok before you may not like it.

Who doesn't want to zip around in a badass robot and blow ♥♥♥♥ up? Very challenging but in a good way.

Fantastic little puzzle game. Love the story themes related to the struggle of the worker under capitalism. Difficulty curve is good with new threats being layered-on gradually. I also appreciate that they added the "Open Shift" mode with no timer or O2 drain for those who would like a more chill experience.

It's truly astonishing how tight this game is. An absolute master-class in video game development.

Exactly like the regular version of Retroarch but with the bonus of not having to worry about keeping it up-to-date. Great stuff.

Very difficult but not unfair or tedious. Has a deep combat system entirely unlike any other "Souls" game. Forget what you know to embrace death, destruction, and victory!
