One of the best games I've ever played. And after playing for free for so long, now it has graphics!

10/10 would get destroyed by cave-ins and wereelephants again and again.

Seriously. If you can afford it, do not hesitate. Show the devs some love!

This is a story about the dark spots in your mind, about the bonds that tie a person to the ones around them, about what makes you "you". I discovered this game at a bit of a low point in my life, and played it through with one of my best friends. I have many feelings and thoughts about it but I will not ramble too much. Suffice it to say, I cried a bit (a lot) at some points during the story.

The premise is already a heavy-hitter (no spoliers here, sorry), and the story only gets better as events progress. The well rounded soundtrack and sound work/ambient sounds (the bounce/step sounds are stellar!!!) immediately drag you into the setting. Platforming feels smooth and fun, and combined with the unique art-style it makes "just walking around to go talk to your neighbours and friends" really entertaining. The cozy style adds a nice contrast to the (gloomy at points) story, and the writing and developement of the characters make you forget that you are, in fact, talking to a 2-D animal drawing. Speaking of 2-D; the characters are anything but. Everything feels so alive, I do not know how else to describe it.

In short: a really interesting, emotional, delightful game. I highly recommend it.

Really cute and relaxing* game, feels like putting together a neat puzzle*. The soundtrack is pleasant, the tiles are beautifully rendered and the different biomes and special tiles have a lot of personality. If I had to define it with one word, it would be "charming".

*Note: you start playing with your brain empty and end up 3 hours later, twitching because of that one missing tile </joke>.
Now in all seriousness, it is a really neat game, easy to play but hard to master. It is the kind of game that you start playing with a "just a short session to clear my mind" attitude and ends up hooking you completely instead.

Can also be used as a map creator for TTRPGs, so that is a nice plus!

The devs have put a lot of love into this game and it shows. I would absolutely recommend it.

So let me precede this review by saying I did not entirely dislike the game. A neutral review would be more accurate. I absolutely loved the first hours, but the bad outweighted the good in the end and it ended up leaving a bad taste.
This review does contain spoilers so be warned.

Good:
  • Graphics and music are gorgeous
  • First half of the game was sweet
  • Platforming felt flowy and nice
Bad: (explained below, contains spoilers so marked as such)
  • Frustrating characters in late-game
  • Chores get repetitive after a while

Characters in late-game:
Not sure if it's just the way they were written or a personal bias on my part, but while the first chatacters felt well rounded and seemed to have a closer relationship with Stella, as the game goes on there are some that feel like nothing/generic, up to the point of being frustrating. Stanley and Buck are the only two I found salvable from the latter half of the game.

Having progression tied to "releasing" spirits is nice at first (trying to drive the point that letting go is important) but in the end it just makes it hard to bond with the spirits. This, together with the previous point about the kind of characters you find late game, makes it hard to care at all about them. First departures were sentimental, but after a while any interaction with the characters feels like just another chore. I feel like, other than Buck and Stanley (precious mushroom child), the interacions get more generic as time goes on, save of those that are entirely just rudeness directed at your character (I get that it comes from your backstory but being rude cannot be your whole personality), which I honestly do not care for.
Additionally, the NPCs/background spirits feel kind of empty. And, finally, there is almost no payoff for any of the tasks; either you —rarely— get a throwayay line that gives you a glimpse into the character or you release them. I understand that the objective of the game is to "let them go", but by the end I was unable to feel attachment to the chatacters, just going through their tasks to get them off the boat. Did not get to meet tha bat person because by that time, after Bruce+Mickey, Elena, and Jackie, I had already given up (don't @ me, I do not care). I am sure the bat person is lovely if you are patient enough to get there but by this point I had no more energy.

Chores and travel
As a note, I feel that this game should be considered more a collectathon than a management game, regardless of what tags say. I believe this is another factor to my frustration with the game. The missions and chores ended up feeling... well, like a chore. The travel and crafting/resource collection system, while fine at first, ends up just becoming annoying, just a non-stop clicking minigame + fetch quest for no pay-off. I feel like if the upgrade system was different (variation of the minigames/some automation, not just difference in output) it could be better, but it's hard to keep the player's attention when having to just repeat a task over and over again (just spam the button! Fun). The game is gorgeous and the design of the different areas is nice, but towards the end the map feels a bit same-y, and the simple dialogues make you give up (yes, I gave dating advice to a character, but other than that and the tour guide they all feel like nothing. Even after trying to talk to every spirit you run into they just feel, excuse the pun, soul-less)

In short: this beautiful game immediately caught my attention, as the themes are really interesting and the exploration of grief as the basis for a game sounded really promising.
I appreciate what the game was going for, but I feel like it fell short and ended up being frustrating. I continued playing hoping it would have some of the spark from the first half, but I am afraid that is not going to happen. I was reticent to give it a negative review because I loved the first hours of it, but at this point the tedium has set in and I do not believe I will go back to complete the achievements. Overall I am sorry to give it a 5/10.

I discovered this yesterday and I love it.
It's a really cute and relaxing timer app with chill music and rain sounds.
The art is lovely and it slowly changes as time goes by.
I use it to help me focus while working: you set a task, program the timer and just start doing whatever that task is.
I usually just open it and leave it in the background to listen to the music and the rain. It also lets you set an alarm, so it's a nice reminder to take a break from time to time and it can be used as a pom.

Simply put, a really cute and useful tool!

I really wanted to like this because I normally find these farming games relaxing, but I find it just tedious. The inventory (or lack thereof) is frustrating, the crafting system is unneccesarily complex given that you -again- don't have an inventory and so half the game is spent just moving things around on the menu. Wanted to care about the characters but the quests are limited and are mostly annoying.
I know it's still an alpha, and I hope it gets better, but as of now I can't recommend it at all and I don't think it's worth the price.

Really nice, fun, short game. The tiger fight was really hard though!

It's a really touching, kind of sad short game. The ilustrations were really pretty and the puzzles were ok. The story is one that, although kind of predictable, I was glad to read, as this topic isn't frequently adressed. Overall I really liked it. Definetly worth the price.

Tries to be a puzzle game but has no puzzles. Just trial and error. So much for the "experimental gameplay".
Also tries to be deep and philosophical but just repeats ♥♥♥♥ everyone has heard a thousand times. There's a hanging man there just to be edgy, not having any consequence on the nonexistent "plot".
Basically a huge waste of time IMHO.
