Updates fixed it pretty much entirely.

Upsides:
- Planet generation is super interesting and varied.
- Base building is extensive and allows for lots of creativity.
- There are way more systems than players so it's always easy to find stuff no one else has ever seen.
- Core gameplay of getting materials and upgrade recipes is nice and neat, and if you're interested in exploring then there's always more to see (feels like NOCTIS IV in that regard).

Downsides:
- The UI is definitely console-friendly and could use a PC-specific overhaul (think Skyrim vs SkyUI).
- The inventory system is clunky (would love to build using resources from my storage, or sort, or grab all items of a type at once) - could steal ideas from Satisfactory on this one.
- There are too many base-building recipes that require salvaged data, which can only be found by getting them from under the ground (why are there THREE identical trees for base parts that only vary by material? They could easily be merged).
- The ambient and environmental writing relies a lot on "scifi horror" tropes. It gets kind of old after a while.

Great chill exploration game. The tether system can be a bit frustrating to maintain early on until you get oxygen canisters for some extra leeway. The voxel terrain means it's better about having things to explore than most games of this genre do, and it isn't until much later that the flora actually actively tries to kill you (and even then, pretty easy to spot and avoid). Could be better about having clearer goals and some UI fixes (it took me a few hours of playing to realize there were other categories in the Research Catalog). The astroneers themselves are cute and very expressive, given you never see their faces.

Pretty good, I got 5 or so hours out of it. Couple of sections are actual BS, but for the most part it's just a matter of knowing how to deal with each individual enemy or common combination of enemies. I'm not interested in replaying it, but I am interested in trying out the sequel.

Very solid. Wait for actual release for enough content.

Addictive as hell. Supergiant's great writing and some solid gameplay without feeling locked into the power curve the same way that you might have with Bastion and Transistor.

Definitely the best Monster Hunter yet. So many quality of life changes that I don't think I can go back to the old games.

They're selling it for $25 base price but I'd pay $40 for the amount of content that was in this. A little glitchy here and there but definitely recommended.

This game's combat is so, so satisfying. The open world is merely okay, but the Bitterblack Isle megadungeon is on its own worth the full price of the game.
