This is undoubtedly one of my favorite games of all time. Can't wait for the sequel - Hollow Knight: Silksong
15 dollars for more than 80hours of bliss

Plot
You wouldn't know anything before starting the game and you need to figure it out by playing. There's hidden lore scattered all across Hallownest. You meet new characters that aid you on your journey to the depth of Hollownest.
It took me more than 90 hours to complete all the DLCs and the main storyline.

Gameplay
Hollow Knight has incredibly tight and precise movement and you always feel like you are in control. Animations are fluid and it feels great to control the knight. You learn more and more abilities as you go through the game. The platforming parts are also extremely well done. The boss battles are one of the greatest ever done in this genre. Every boss is different and feels like fresh air from one and another.

Visual
This game is BEAUTIFUL. It's what you would call an ART. It has jaw-dropping visuals and design. At one point you would be running through a jungle, sometimes fighting acidic octopuses. Going through deeper and deeper into Hollownest, You might find a City which is called The City of Tears because It's always raining. There's Crystal Peak where pink gems blind your eye. It's even more satisfying when you learn the lore. When you see such good visuals you would feel the urge to stop and admire the art and dedication the developers have put into the game.

Music
The only thing I can say about the Soundtrack is- It's Magical. It's so incredible that whenever you hear it after finishing the game, you will be suddenly reminded of the journey you've been through. It's Disney music but more epic and mysterious.

Conclusion
Just buy it, please. There aren't many games that will give you this value for only 15dollars which is not even the sale price. You wouldn't regret it.

I love Hollow Knight 10/10

The inferior game between the two episodes, but still a blast!

Yes, it's very short. It took me 3.5 hours to complete it. At the same time, EP1 is polished as hell. Not having any weapons other than the Gravity Gun, in the beginning, freaked me out a bit, but I got through the first chapter and soon I had my weapons again.

Getting the crowbar back actually got me teary. That's an insane achievement for an FPS. I emoted loudly, drawing my wife's attention. I couldn't believe how much I missed it :)

Graphics got a nice bump in EP1. Everything looks sharper and more detailed. Lighting was improved as well -- it definitely felt more natural. I'm still amazed at what Source can achieve.

In short, EP1 was over too soon, whetting my appetite for Episode 2. If you own the Orange Box (one of the best values in gaming, ever) prepare to be amazed.

Half-Life 2 is seriously the best single-player game that there is. None "regular game" really compares to its perfection in all fields. The theme, pacing, gunplay, maps, weapons, enemies, atmosphere, smoothness of source engine, etc. all are so unbelievably well though and executed at it just blows my mind.

My reasons for loving Half-Life 2:
Graphics - The game is bloody gorgeous. Even going back to it now, it looks great. 2004 was kinda the height of the engine wars, with the Cry Engine, Doom 3, and Source all being the newest and shiniest tech. The graphics were very very good and ran well on a wide variety of systems at release.
Immersion: You're right, the Half-Life series have quite generic stories. Where they excel though is in how they tell these stories. They are always first-person, you are always in control. The game never takes you out of it, and thus you are free to immerse yourself fully. The worldbuilding is subtle and while the stories are straightforward you can tell that the writers make an effort to make the setting feel like it has real depth. You feel like you are in a living world.
Atmosphere - The look of a post-alien invasion of Eastern Europe looked hauntingly believable. The art style drew upon classic sci-fi staples (Tripod Stalkers, Zombies, etc.) and made them each unique. Beyond the technical fidelity of the graphics, the art direction is impeccable. Contrasting architectural styles throughout the game contribute to the immersion and story, by showing you the history of the world rather than telling you. The music is also phenomenal
The Gravity Gun - Basically the most powerful weapon in the game was just mundane objects flung at enemies forcefully. Incredibly satisfying to take out a grunt with a radiator. The best game mechanic of all time!
Storytelling - You're never explicitly told exactly what is going on or who the Combine is. You've never explained the motivations of the enigmatic G-Man. You witness the story through Gordon Freeman's eyes and are given tantalizing clues as to the nature of the overall conflict. The camera actually never leaves Gordon Freeman's control the entire game.
Sound Design - The audio is incredible in this game. From the Overwatch voice to Dr. Breen's musings about "Are all of humanity's accomplishments to be nothing more than a thin layer of plastic, sandwiched between the Burgess Shale and an eon's worth of mud?" The power of the gun sounds and the animal-like otherworldly sounds of the Alien gun-ships are just so awesome.

Part of why Half-Life is lauded is that it pioneered this form of storytelling, and it took years for other FPS games to catch up. You have to realize that even up until HL2's release, very few FPS games were doing this. Battlefield and COD were very focused on multiplayer game feel and any single-player they may have had was basically just there to teach you how each gun worked.
Today, FPS full-immersion storytelling is standard. It's what made the Modern Warfare games explode into popularity, it's what made the Crysis and Far Cry games become major franchises (FC1 was released a few months before HL2 btw), and today it's more or less a requirement to include an immersive always-in-character silent-protagonist single-player story in your shooter. Looking back now, HL2 hardly seems anything special, but it would be no real exaggeration to say that it was the game that really established the standard. HL1 popularized it, HL2 reaffirmed it. And games today are still struggling to live up to the example it set.

A lot of its excellence is obfuscated by the fact that many games since have adopted Half-Life 2's great ideas.

It's a mix of GTA and Batman Arkham Games

Plot
You play as Wei Shen, a police officer trying to infiltrate and destroy the Triad organizations of Hong Kong. But as he is following his mission, he meets his old friends and gets attached to many members of the triads and becomes conflicted about which steps to take.
The story isn't bad but I wouldn't say it's good either since I already forgot half of it.
The DLCs are horrible and extremely repetitive. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Visual
The graphics of this game is stunning for a game of 2012. Especially the nighttime. The number of NPCs on the road also gives it a realistic atmosphere. The sea in this game looks horrible though.

Gameplay
This is where almost all of my criticisms of this game goes to. The cars in this game are a nightmare to control. Cars handle bad, they are janky and feel laggy to control. The camera control is objectively bad. The movement is also horrible since Shen jumps over obstacles I don't mean to jump over. With the enormous amount of bugs this game has, it's a very bad experience.
The fighting is quite decent though. It's kind of like the Arkham games where you have to input your attacks at a timeframe to execute combos and counter by hitting an input at the right time. You get different superpowers based on the costumes you buy from vendors.

Bugs and It's Horrible Optimization
Where do I begin?--
Optimization: The Definitive Edition of this game (Which is the only one available on Steam) is optimized horribly. Even with the recommended configurations, you might see frequent stutters. It was not the case with the non Definitive Edition. But it shouldn't be a huge problem since most people nowadays have above the recommended specs anyway.

Bugs: It's a chaos of a game in terms of bugs, It's INCREDIBLY buggy. You might be driving a car, a few seconds later you will be flown outside the cars and shot through the sky and die. It happened many times on my playthrough and had to play nervously not knowing when I might grow a pair of wings again. Of course, there had to be mission bugs. But those could be fixed with restarting to the previous checkpoint.

Conclusion
If you can get past the bugs, It's not a bad experience. The story is average and with only a few memorable scenes. A crime-action drama with the mix of Batman Arkham style fighting.

First of all, the Steam Version of this game sucks. There are a lot of bugs (there are many youtube videos that compare this version to others). The game crashes very frequently with a black screen. So, if you don't save your game, your progress will be lost (I had to lose almost 4-5h or gameplay in total). This version also has fewer songs on the radio. You should downgrade this version to the retail one if you don't want to get frustrated by the crashes. There are also some missions where you have to turn the frame limiter ''ON" in order to pass. It locks your fps at 30. You also swim very slowly with the frame limiter turned OFF for some reason.

Is it worth it?
Other than the version itself, the game is great. The story as well as the characters are extremely memorable. It was one of the most sold games on PS2. Highly recommend it to everyone. But if you don't like the downgrading hustle, you should get any of the other versions of the game.

In this day and age, It's not worth it.

I know that this game is very old so most of my words would not be valid for those buying it for a nostalgic dive.

This game is the first game chronologically and the last in terms of the timeline. I wouldn't say the story is bad considering its age. But I forgot most of the plot already.
The cars flip very easily. There are hardly any good songs on the radio.
The cutscenes have an awful amount of motion blur. I don't even know what they were thinking.

The main problems of this game are the horrendous missions. They are incredibly tedious and very difficult. I wouldn't be surprised if you drop the game midway through.

A very nostalgic game and a gem of Rockstar North

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is set in Colorful Miami and instantly looks a hundred times better than the previous entry. The plot is also quite decent and it's the first game in the timeline of the GTA 3D universe. This game looks good considering it came out in 2002. The game has many memorable characters.

It's hard to say anything negative about it but if I had to say one, It had to be the controls on the helicopters in Keyboard and Mouse. Even though you CAN learn it if you spend enough time learning but who wants to learn about driving while playing a GTA game. There were also a few glitches where I had to restart some missions.

It's a terrific game and probably my favorite game growing up. There's a very good chance you have played it too. If you have not, you should give it a try.

If you are looking for a short horror game to play in one or two sessions, this game is for you.

Generally, I enjoy atmospheric horror a lot more than survival horrors. It's like I get to enjoy the game more rather than just hiding from monsters. This game has an incredible musical score. The visuals of this game still hold up in 2020 very well. The story is also quite mysterious but would have been better if the game were a few hours longer.

A beautiful game and frightful game with an intense atmosphere. Give it a try.

A direct upgrade from the previous game and a million times better!

I find the Ezio Trilogy to be still among the best games of all time. The ambiance is phenomenal, the gameplay is still decent enough, the story takes you to interesting places and the music is a 10 for sure. While the narrative is simplistic, Ezio is a fun character to play.

From the repetitive nature of AC1, AC2 features a decent amount of mechanics and a very captivating story.

Assassin's Creed II was a classic when it was released, Of course, that was a long time ago, all the way back in 2009. Surprisingly, It did age well to me. Other than the combat being too easy and slow parkour, this game holds up very well.

Don't forget about the Soundtracks. AC2 has one of the best soundtracks of all games!
