So, I bought this when it was called "Loop Odyssey" before Loop Hero filed a DMCA. This game is NOT similar to Loop Hero in anything but the overall aesthetics, and the fact that it's a semi-idle game.

That being said, this game is a bug riddled mess. Nothing gamebreaking, usually, and if it is, it'll only impact one loop and then you'll be fine. No need to reset the game. Most of the bugs just come down to things not truly disappearing when killed. You don't have to pay the escape penalty to leave their square, but you can kill them again and again. Which, in a game where you set your path before running the game, it can be easy to accidentally exploit this.

The game itself is interesting, but it's somewhere between being too long and too short. It's too short as far as the map and gameplay goes, and too long as far as trying to reach the end and complete the story goes. If the map was bigger and there was more to see or discover, it would be different. Instead it's just a long time spent looking at the same few things. There are a few "puzzles" but you'll find the answers long before the NPCs bother telling you any details about it. That is, except for the very last puzzle for killing the demon, which is just a hair too obscure to solve without just trying things to see if it will change anything. Everything else you can look around your map and item descriptions and put things together without going through lengthy trial and error loops to see what happens.

Not a terrible game, but Loop Hero really does a better job in every regard. I do look forward to seeing what else this developer does, but I also hope they don't just rip off another game for their next project.

Early Access Review
If you like factorio/satisfactory but wished you could shoot into space and build on other planets, this is for you.

It's more sci-fi based than factorio and satisfactory so you wind up using flying drones and vessels instead of relying solely on pipes and conveyor belts, but the sense of progression in this game is far better than either factorio or satisfactory.

I probably still like factorio more, though, just for the world threat concept. This game has no dangers.

Early in but not a bad time waster MMO that plays like Diablo. If you want to be a top rank player, expect to spend money. Cash shop is a rip off.

"Whoa! Cyberpunk 2077 has flatlined.

We've created this anonymous error report, which you can send our way to help us fix the problem in the near dark future."

I'd review more, but that error is all the content I've managed to experience.

EDIT: Had to deactivate some computer processes, but I got it running.

Game is still buggy. More immersion breaking than game breaking. I got nervous when a main mission NPC was laying under a car stiff, but at the end of the conversation she just spawned by the car and got in the driver seat. So, I was able to continue.

Character customization is practically worthless. Chest size reverts to default size when you wear clothes. You can pick your genitals for no reason at all (Shower scenes and sex scenes never show them.) , and pronouns and other gender related words are based exclusively on your voice. You might look great in the character creator, but you will look horrific in-game. Not to fear, though. You'll probably cover your face in ridiculous looking gear for stats anyway.

To add to the sex features of the game, there's only 2 female joy toys and 2 male joy toys that you can actually use. The game is full of other joy toys, but you can't use any of them. It's surprising they didn't just allow it. They could have easily just had them all do the same animation. It's not a big deal, and the scenes are so dull that you'll only feel like doing it once, but it just seems like another bit of lazy development.

Game features fall flat. This feels like they wanted to pull off a cross between Grand Theft Auto and Watch Dogs and fell short on everything. Biggest shortfall is how the police just do not care if you commit a crime. You get a short term bounty, but no one comes looking for you. Just take a car or murder someone, if you want. There will be no real repercussions. You'd think a game with this setting would at least make it so cops that see you on the street come after you until you make a bribe. Really anything more than a few emblems by the minimap. At 2 emblems I did have a few waves of 3 beat cops attack me, but after I killed about 6, the bounty just went away.

The pace of the story/setting is odd, too. It's like it can't decide if you're a well known top dog or a total nobody. It's good, but it feels inconsistent at times. There are also doors and devices that require certain stats to use, but it seems like almost anything you need a body level to open can also just be opened with 1 RAM in quickhacking. It feels like it's trying to give me the illusion of making progress by throwing high level requirements on things, just for me to be able to get by with the same abilities I started with. Sure, you can spend time doing a bunch of side content to to level up, but there's a point in the story where you keep getting told you need to hurry to the end. Makes doing side content feel strange when supposedly every second counts. Besides, all the side content is the same: go kill this guy or go inside this building and pick up this file. I did just unlock street racing, but the cars all handle so awkwardly that I'll have to pass. The motorcycles handle well, but the cars feel extremely strange.

Honestly, I think this game made the same mistake I did when I allocated my character's stats. It tried to do a lot and wound up being subpar at all of it.

Runs fine. Reminds me of playing the original Xbox version and the original Sigma. Menus are outdated and the cut-scenes are blurry, but the gameplay is smooth.

You get two great games for just $40, and they even tack on 3 if you feel the need to play that.

I once called this game a lawsuit waiting to happen and encouraged people to grab it while they could. That review seems to be gone now, and that's fine because Melvor Idle has largely walked away from the RuneScape concept. Ironically, they're published by Jagex now. So, it wouldn't even matter.

That being said, the game is slow and convoluted now. On top of that, it struggles to boot and sometimes doesn't want to close, even after performing end task on Steam. I don't know where they went wrong with this game after it had so much promise, but it's safe to say you can forget about it now.

EDIT: Now that Melvor Idle 2 is in the works, there is even less reason to play/but into this one.

It's like a weaker PC Building Simulator but with some fake crypto currency market attached. Terrible user interface and all around just a total mess.

Great game. Wish it had a better in-game recipe book that could give direction to less experienced players, though.

Love it. The board game is already great, and this takes care of the maintenance aspect. (As well as clears up some of the rules for those that find themselves opening the rulebook a lot.)

Not a bad game, but playing it digitally feels lackluster. Would be better off as a mobile app than a PC game.
