They've fixed the things I had complaints about. I would warn everyone, though, that it does require you to be online. If you walk away for 30 minutes, you will get logged out and kicked back into town and lose your dungeon progress. This can be particularly painful if you have to walk away at the end of a few of the acts in the game, especially the final act. However, I do enjoy the trade-off of having other players running around the map and having some zones in T3-4 become PvP zones at random.

Runs so poorly it's practically unplayable. On top of that, if I want to lower the resolution to 1440p or 1080p to improve performance, I have to change my monitor resolution because they don't even have exclusive full screen. Even then, it doesn't help much.

EDIT: Realized I was installed onto my larger HDD that I typically throw offline games on. I moved it to my NVMe and now it runs great. Keep this in mind if you're buying and don't have a nice SSD. I'm playing in 4k on high now, and it's smooth.

I actually found the levels of this one a bit too obscure/difficult to solve without hints. For some of it, I just didn't realize what some of the items were. A couple puzzles are painful to solo, and if you do it co-op you need someone else to buy it, too.

As neat as it was to work with resistors and circuits, I had to look up ohms law on my own to remember it. Maybe there was something in the level and I just missed it.

Be warned, this game has already removed content that people have paid extra for from the indiegogo campaign, and have also censored the artbook from this season pass. Anything you get from this pass could be taken from you at a moments notice.

Got this after I refunded Skullgirls. While Skullgirls is removing content and poorly censoring characters, this game is getting a free upgrade that will still let you use old character sprites if you really want instead of the new improved art that is coming. Rising is also bringing in some free new characters. So, absolutely pick this up.

RPG mode is a neat way to handle a fighting game story, and it fills you in on any details that you might need to know from the mobile/browser game.

This game is more annoying to play than it is fun. You'll need to rework the keybinds, and I never did figure out how to access something as simple as the menu from inside the game. Better to just get 8 if you're not down to adjust everything.

Also, the voice acting is terrible and the way they pronounce the Chinese names is incredibly inconsistent.

I get why the reviews are positive. There's a lot to like here. It's just also a trainwreck. It's no wonder Nintendo shot this down when it was submitted for a Switch port.

I'll give 2 a shot to see if the transition to 3D went better, but this game has massive framerate issues in some of the stages. I think maybe the dev should have made less weapon types and stages, and honed in on making sure the game actually ran smoothly. Some stages are painful to get through just because the game turns into a powerpoint. This is with a GTX 1080 and an i9 9900k processor. Also, there are typos throughout the game despite it only having maybe 30 lines of dialog total. The dev is certainly talented, but they also definitely rushed this game. I should have realized that the moment that the game booted and warned me that digital input doesn't work well.

Another kicker was that bosses would sometimes die before their health bar fully depleted. If I hadn't bought the trilogy as a bundle, I'd be refunding this. As it stands, I do want to finish the last 4 stages and give 2 a go.

Big Edit Note: You do NOT have to disable HVCI. That requirement was removed about a year ago. There is an anti-China review raid that hits this game from time to time ever since it went F2P.

New Rift Traversal Mode Edit: The new mode is fantastic. It's like playing Helldivers 2, but with a wuxian setting (ancient Chinese fantasy) and PvP added to the mix. Loot the area, kill a few NPCs and/or a boss. Move on to the next point. Find other players? Kill them, loot them, keep raiding the map. The items you collect get used to craft new weapons/armor. Be warned, the weapons and armor you craft and optimize are 100% up for grabs if you get killed. Death in this new mode is VERY high stakes. Don't use up all your materials getting one really good item. Make sure you craft things that you can make spares of. You could easily find yourself unable to participate in the higher tiers if you die. At the same token, killing advanced players can net you some great gear. I hope this mode stays active, and that the gear loss doesn't scare people back into playing the original mode.

Old Review:

For all the complaints of Chinese players, I don't find I encounter them enough to care. According to the discord, you mostly run into them around the earlier ranks and then they fade out. You can still deal with them. If you get mad enough, you can just join their servers and do the same to their region.

Old EDIT: A lot of people freaking out because the game is in China and the anti-cheat engine requires kernel access. I've monitored my system, and it's absolutely harmless. Which is no surprise given the game is available through Steam to begin with. That being said, I don't do anything overly sensitive on Windows to begin with. Company is also 1300km from Beijing, closer to Shanghai and Taiwan. I think the big wigs in Beijing have bigger concerns than what foreigners are playing the video games of a company so far away from them.

If China really wanted to come for you, they'd use TikTok, Genshin Impact, and League of Legends.

Old EDIT 2: After gaining a couple hundred hours and playing this on nearly every Friday for a few years, I wanted to provide an update. The population comes and goes, which can net you against a fair amount of bots. The bots range from a complete joke to the hardest enemy you'll ever face, and it seems to be based on your rank. This still remains one of the best multi-player games I've ever played, and I wish it didn't get so much unfair hate just for being Chinese. Yes, there is a massive cosmetic gaccha system. Some people manage to profit off of it selling the items they get on the Steam marketplace. You can easily just ignore it. I've bought some cosmetics, but I only play a few characters, so what am I honestly out by buying a few skins for them? Vast majority of what I own is from the treasures that drop from playing and completing in-game quests.

This is one of those games that if it ever shuts down I'll remember fondly like I do Halo 2 and RuneScape Classic.

I had to think for about half the day on if I would actually say yes or no on this, and I've decided to go with no.

The main story is shallow and quick. The endings are disappointing and a game like this could have really benefited from more than 2 ending options (3 if you really want to count one that is just a shorter version of another.)

That being said, every succubus has her own miniature story. They're short, sure, but trying to get the good ending for each individual succubus helps give this game the remaining content that the main story lacks. That being said, it's a shallow experience doing so. Your stats will all be maxed out, and you'll have no further use for the stats of the succubi. You'll just being cycling through the days while exploring dialogue options that are utterly unpredictable. The text options rarely clue you in to what your character will actually say.

One last gameplay complaint is that it doesn't really feel like there's much freedom of choice. Sure, you have options, but you NEED money and you NEED essence. So, you're really just going to send your highest grossing succubi to collect money and essence while you train the others. There is a clear path to success, and there's just no reason to drift from that unless a succubus specifically requests to go to a location for her affection quest.

I had high hopes for this because of how good My Lovely Daughter is. The art and writing are good, but the gameplay is just a chore to get through.
