I love factory games, and I've thought this concept would be neat even before this game was suddenly announced.

But this just isn't good. We're talking about a developer that slapped their keyboard a few times to come up with a name, and the install was shady, too. The machines aren't animated, and the technology tree looks like it's just full of filler. The menus are garbage, and the terrain, charming as it was at a glance, just looks obnoxious as time goes on.

Recently switched to a split keyboard with a columnar layout. This has been a decent way to rebuild familiarity. If you switch from a traditional keyboard to either a Columnar or an Ortholinear keyboard, absolutely give this a go. Good for teens learning to type as well.

Those of us that played FES already know that The Answer features very VERY few new enemies and models. It's 99% more of the things you already saw in a "new" randomized dungeon.

I get that they were going to include it in the original package at first and had to drop it, but this season pass should have been grandfathered into the ultimate edition.

This game moves slow, and you have to manually refill everything. It looked like it should be similar to a factory game. So, I grabbed it, but it wound up playing mode like an idle game. That's fine with me, too, but I have to actively watch it all the time or it stops. Winds up just being an absolutely mind-numbing way to spend my day.

Dev, please add an auto-fill building or option.

It definitely lacks the charm of the original and FES. Hard to recommend at full price.

UI is uglier than original.
Voice acting is worse than original.
Music is worse than original.
Dialogue is updated for the newer generation.
Characters feel friendlier than in the original.
SEES armband design changed in combat zones because too nazi-like.
Gameplay is way easier than in the original.
Many social link charactet redesigns are ugly.
Anime scenes have again been replaced, this time by 3D animations. They're not terrible, but they're definitely not as good, either.

Still better than Persona 3 Portable, though.

Early Access Review
This game is absolutely going to get sued by Nintendo, but I'm glad I bought it while it's still available. The designs are so clearly pokemon edits, and parts of the interface and sound effects are clearly straight from Legend of Zelda. I hope they make changes so they don't get shut down, because I love it.

Important edit note: They downgraded the graphics (lighting engine) to make the game run on more hardware instead of adding lower graphics options.

Complains if it isn't on your main drive (I have a faster M2 drive that I put it on). Seems like an odd complaint for a game to have unless it's gathering data, which wouldn't surprise me from a Chinese made game unfortunately. 對不起我的朋友。中國就是不太好。 Anyway the game has a charming atmosphere and seems fun, but it runs poorly. There's no way that I can run Satisfactory so smooth just for this to have minor stutters. Gathering is also slow. Everything has to land on the ground first, and then slowly moves to your character. This goes even for items you pick up like a shovel. It's a weird design choice.

Grab it on a sale if you're going to get it.

For the record: I am not discriminating against China. I AM CHINESE. I wish more games came from China. I just have concerns as to why this game wants to be on my main drive, and I know when I lived in China we has a lot of companies that would farm data. It isn't discrimination. It is my family's personal experience. I worry that the developer is just using this as an excuse to silence complaints about data farming. Maybe just get this game on console where you know you're safe.

I'm not going to refund it because I got it on sale and for $17.50 I'm more inclined to hold on and give it more time than if I paid $25, despite how small the difference really is.

However, this game lacks some serious polish. I couldn't even figure out how to put roads out, which is the very first thing you need to do in this game. (You have to click the road icon and drag it onto the world. After that, roads will have edit points when you click on the road icon.) The game is a neat point between factory games like Factorio or Dyson Sphere Simulator crossed with Cities Skylines. The game is definitely centered around traffic management and placing things near eachother. Unlike other factory games, you actually get bonuses for placing buildings nearby eachother. That being said, early traffic moves slow, and I find myself losing interest fast. I'm hoping this changes as I scale up, but for now it's just hard to advise this game to other people. Especially when the game is so rough around the edges. (Sometimes a building will look like it'll connect to a road, but the moment you place it, the terrain shifts to accomodate, and then it can't connect anymore.)

I'd recommend people hold off on this for a while.

EDIT: A few more hours in, and my habitats have grown. Unfortunately, each time they grow, more and more types of resources need to pool into them. I see this becoming an issue fast because even though I can make multi-lane roads and pipes, it doesn't change the fact that 4+ different types of vehicles will need to reach each building. Just spend a little extra to get Factorio, Satisfactory, or Dyson Sphere Program. There's a reason those three reign so supreme.

Constantly have to delete and reposition things because the game can't seem to recognize that they're already connected to roads and resources. Can't even get tram tracks to show up. Game is bugged beyond belief, which is a shame because I really think it would be better than Cities 1 if it just worked.
