No. I wanted to own a PC since I was 1. I live in a fascist, ableist, classist, authoritarian country full of censorship where not being a paid Sony shill was punishable by law, and I didn't know Valve even existed before 2012.

If you search "Giochi Gratis" on Google.it, Steam will not even be MENTIONED until 58 results in, and it will only show up sites for Shockwave Flash games full of malware, the Google Play Store, and other sites designed to milk money and data out of you while pumping you full of Ransomware. Keep in mind this happens in 2024. IMAGINE how many more results you had to scroll back in 2010.

The ONLY possible way to make https://steamdb.info/freepackages/ show up is to install ProtonVPN, use Bing instead of Google, and tell Bing that you're from the United States and not Italy, and search "Free Packages" instead of "Giochi Gratis", which I didn't do until 2017 because ProtonVPN didn't exist before that and EVERYONE and their mom told me that Bing "never finds anything".

The only reason why I found out about Steam in 2012 instead of 2017 is because of a video on youtube showcasing the Steam Workshop. Even in that case, it took me one full year to convince my family that Steam was a PC equivalent of a gaming console's online shop, and not a crime syndicate. The fact that you have a year of service badge that is higher than mine doesn't mean that you're smarter. It means you're extremely privileged, and you have epically failed to fight against censorship.
