Japan's an extremely homogeneous country, traditional family values are still held very highly. The reality is that Japan's an extremely high-maintaince and urbanised country, the downsides of living in such societies is that it's extremely cost-prohibative.

Theres a massive break down between the sexs in japan, all of which has to do with culture.

But in alot of ways I agree just not purely on economics (thats part of it) the entire "modern urban" system is a failure in this regard and its not just impacting japan.

This happens in very wealthy places almost exclusively its not economic(at least not in a lack of resources, if anything its having an abundance that causes this).In short its cultural.

Poor places have a booming population (thought thats in part due to support from the first world).

My point was its cyclical, populations nose dive when they hit the "utopia" until they hit a crisis or the population itself is a crisis and they go back up.

Fast rapid imigration can cause clash which becomes more likely when such a situation arises as what was once small becomes proportionally larger.This is why you have historical precedent for x county being accepting of pepople y until criss z happened and tragedy arising.

Its just cyclical, the current socio/economical situation will cause a collapse/change/conflict and you will see population growth go back up for populations.

Its not like they are having "physical" problems its all social.Its the simlar to reason your seeing "right wing populist" movements in most of the rest of the first world in response to simlar "made " problems.
