Given what lisa is about...how is the creators views as a self loather suprising?

If I had to come with a "game" that a self hating man would write and it was lisa it would be too "on the nose" to be "realistic".

What's not the real issue?

Populations natrual flucuate in response to hitting a pop ceiling or resources changing.Its not a doomsday scenario that needs averting.

Its a "first world problem" both metaphoricaly and literaly.More so, its self inflicted hence the comparisions to a teenager moping.

Not being any clearer, what's the manufactured issue, and what does "cultural mope" mean?

Its not a real issue in the same way a teenager who "mopes" about things dosent have any real issues. He/she is safe/well provided for /etc.

In reality if japan shrunk to 200000 its still not an issue for japan at the end of the day by itself unless they have a war or something of that nature.It would have some economic impact at the end of the day but its not the literal end of the world.

Money is almost certainly the most important issue, even families that want kids will more often than not, raise just the one. Even the Herbivore men phenomenon can be attributed to economics, the article linked suggested the decline of professional opportunities as a reason.

Im not saying its not a major factor Im saying if it was the only factor it wouldnt have as much/a effect. Hence why poor populations arent effected as much.

To put it on a personal and not a societal level if you have a depressed person I imagine they reproduce at a lower rate.Same thing with societies.Yes money helps, but not if your metaphoricaly slitting your wrists at a cultural level.

Heck if they had at govermental level tried to sub child care/off time for children/family or other simlar measures it would likely help but its a multi faced issue.

I didn't say that Japan is poor and that's why their population isn't growing, but raising a kid is a bigger burden for a middle-income family in Japan compared to almost any other developed country.
