Leveling skills is addictive. Part of the reason I prefer Elder Scrolls games over Fallout 3, new vegas, or 4 which I haven't even tried even tho I got it a christmas present last year.

I tried Morrowind I just can't enjoy it. The walls of text with no one speaking them just gets to me and I end up skipping eventually and that just makes things unbareable.


I like Oblivion the most because it's the easiest to break game. No sleeping = enjoy being op. And acrobatics, I really missed that as a skill in Skyrim. Can't tell you how much I enjoyed scaling city walls and places I wasn't supposed to get too.

If they only play Minecraft I'd like to think of them as a gamer, but also an idiot if they think they're pro at it.

It was sorta a hard year, can't really say it 100% deserves it, but Overwatch was one of the biggest games of the year. Competition was;

Battlefield 1
Doom
Final Fantasy XV maybe.



That's all I can think of that might be a contender. Overwatch does have something over them. I feel like it appeals to a broader audience. I haven't played Overwatch but it feels like normal shooters fans and people who don't normallly play shooters will be more interested in it. Does that make it the best game? Definitely not, but I can see more people liking it aside from shooters fans, so I can see how it won.

You think no one would buy a Battlefield game after B4, B:HL or Star Wars Battlefield? Glad you weren't there to warn EA that Battlefield 1 was going to be a sales bomb.

There was no mass-exodus when paid mods happened, it didn't happen with the Christmas log-in fuck ups last year, didn't happen when they mistakenly banned 10K COD players from their game, didn't happen when they made CS: Condition Zero, didn't happen when they killed Day of Defeat. The list of Valve fuck-ups go on, next to no one is going to drop Steam if Half Life 3 is bad.

I agree you'd have to be extra special to quit steam because of one disappointment, but I always thought gamers can be extra special at times. I mean people sent death threats to developers over the mass effect 3 ending and that's just an ending, not the game as a whole. Employees got harassed, and people(maybe just one guy) ended up quitting. Gamers went out of their way to make sure this company felt it.



Now steam is a massive thing right now. I don't think they could kill steam in any way possible except by breaking everything and someone coming along offering better for cheaper. But that said. I think it's very possible people will leave because of one bad game. Call of Duty as a franchise took a hit with their latest game, and well even though it was one of the best selling games of the year they still lost half their usual audience. Do you think that audience is gonna return when they release their next game?


Obviously Steam and Valve isn't call of duty but the same can apply to them. If customers feel betrayed they can and will most likely leave because that's how some gamers are. They're petty and if they feel a company betrayed them they'll try their hardest to strike back.

Most people feel burned or bored from the first Watch Dogs so I imagine you'll get a lot of hate and general dislike for this one. Not really sure why Ubisoft decided to do a sequel to this game knowing they'd have to pay for this first.

And in combination of most of your costumers hating you they might be willing to flock to any other good pc platform once it becomes popular enough.

Remember, games can practically kill a company. Because gamers are the most fanatic consumers of a product when they don't like your game or feel disappointed by it they'll actually try to do harm to said company.



Why would any logical company risk their money raking platform for a singleplayer game that they'll really have to deliver on, and won't constantly pump in money like multiplayer games like CS:GO or Dota 2.
