Heads up, there is no cloud save! For the old a Free-to-Play co-op FPS, Shatterline made it easy to have a good time, although the old version seemed to be more polished, likely due in part to the server way that supported things versus how it is all offline now. Massive thanks to Frag Lab for giving long-time players the new story mode for free — that was hugely appreciated!
Then a new game mode called "Randy" is coming! We don't know much about it yet, but I can feel the anticipation growing...
On a serious note, it seems that the war in Ukraine has impacted the lives of developer Frag Lab LLC. I assume this is part of the reason for losing some employees, and other funding partners, but this did not distract them from Shatterline. That kind of strength has definitely come across in every update.

As long as we are talking about gameplay, Shatterline continues to be a fast-paced and fun FPS. They did lower the difficulty a bit, which made it easier to enjoy a match as a solo player. The story was more wrapped up than the previous versions, as now it is easy to follow and there were also hints that there is more to come. Because Randy is a thing now... and we are all just left wondering.

In short: Worth $10 for six hour campaign and upcoming Randy mode. But if you want diffculty this is not that just straight fun arcade shoot with some story.

I'm not sure whether I should give this game a positive or negative review.
The game is pretty, the optimisation is great, the Steam Deck support is excellent, the classes are pretty fun, but...
the game is made for Co-Op yet it's only Single-Player now after the update.
I finished 4 levels alone on Steam Deck and it's alright, nothing mind blowing or unique and it's free so there's no loss, but still the game could have been way better in multiplayer.

It's not a bad game but it's safe to skip and ignore if you want a co-op game.

the devs completely ruined this game, it was probably the best free multiplayer FPS game on steam, then was taken down completely unless you had an EA account and bought it on that store then came back on steam now $10 had all of its good content gutted and only kept the part of the game you only use for level farming (that wasn't even that fun) in the game.

(no actually the "campaign" if you can call it that was literately nothing but minor events that were available on a daily cycle)
