Social Fighting and Innate Melee/"Unarmed" attacks
So.. okay, opening a discussion or something here:
I've had a number of occassions where a Social Fight occurred with one or more Alien Race Pawn that had an additional type of melee attack. With very nasty results.
It *seems* that most if not all Alien Races do have the default "Human" attack, according to the injury tab. However they also make use of thier additional "unarmed" weapons.

I don't know if this is how the "rules of engagement" work for Social Fighting (They don't seem to make use of Melee weapons) but the results are often perhaps unintentionally more serious than the mechanic is meant to cause. Such as severed limbs.
I'm pretty sure I have never had Chuck Norris as a Pawn in Rimworld.

To me it appears Social Fighting in the vanilla game was not intended to include anything other than Human-ish pawns, so this may not be a fixable thing. Or perhaps I am totally misunderstanding the "Social Fighting" concept itself.

I am reminded of the "Friendly" Brawling in Skyrim. Khajiit effectively always have an Iron (Or was it steel?) Dagger in thier claw-attack, so it is very easy to win a "friendly" brawl. Because there was no other option for them to use. It was just the way the code was set up.

the races use what's normal for them to use. So pretty much every melee option. Imagine a really strong dude who doesn't have to fight often, so he underestimates his power, against a really small and weak guy. The strong dude will probably cause much more severe injuries than he intended to do.

Well, for example a Crystalloid Ascendent has an attack that does burn damage. Orassans have claws, the injuries report specifically these in addition to the "Human fist" injuries. (I think it's human fist, I'm fairly certain it says human at least)
I will admit I have really poor luck at times, but... things like Nose: Destroyed or Leg: Severed don't usually appear from social fights betweem "human" Pawns. At least not without the Bloodlust trait being involved.

I am not saying there is anything specifically wrong with Alien races having these addiotional attacks, just that I don't think the "Social fighting" system can take them into account. And I have no idea if it can even be altered to do so.

I posted this here because I thought folks who use this framework in thier mods might look at it from time to time. In no way am I asking for you to do anything about it Erdelf. I am entirely willing to put up with the odd severed limb if someone is silly enough to start a fight with a Xenn, I'm just happy to have non-humans as pawns to begin with.

just FYI, I added an option for the race modders to limit damage in social fights.
