Can't approach Vanilla Expanded Mechanoids ships

When I land on an event tile the whole caravan disappears (Colonists, vehicles, and gear)

does shooting or any other skill affect vehicle weapons?

Vehicles needing "rescuing" and not being able to enter

Im trying to use vehicles to not use 7 days to get somewhere but when i built vehicles they just need rescuing, and when i try to enter it doesnt allow me, like it does nothing, ive tried the mule and toad but neither of them work.
