Can ship travel on rivers?

Despite claiming that boats like Dingy or Trawler can travel on rivers, albeit slowly, i found that they are unable to enter the river tiles, only ocean ones, and i dont know whether it is a bug, or "planned feature"

Same here it Doesn't Go up Rivers like the Boats mod did and such

Indeed they don't. Made my settlement on a river near a sea thinking I'd be able to travel across all connected rivers to different outposts, but the boat freaking can't. RIP masterwork chain-shotgun quest
