How to Remove the Mod
I found a fix for removing the mod without bricking the colony if it becomes unplayable after removing the mod from a save. Note: unfortunately the fix does involve editing the save file so attempt at your own risk and MAKE A BACKUP.

Step 1: Remove any trader ship landing zones you have

Step 2: Remove Trader Ships from your mod list and reload the game.

Step 3: Open save file folder in the options menu

Step 4: Right click your save and edit the file (I suggest using Notepad++ as it will make this easier)

Step 5: Ctrl+f to open the search function and type in "traderships" (no quotes) and click find next - Also enable Wrap around on the left side of the search box

Step 6: anywhere it takes you where "traderships" apears needs to be deleted
- It will appear between a <li> and </li> syntax
- You need to drag select starting from the <li> syntax to the </li> syntax, making sure both are entirely selected and delete that section
- Make sure the blank line created by this is also deleted (not sure if necessary but it's what I did)

Step 7: Once all instances of "traderships" and their code blocks are deleted, save the file and close the editor.

Step 8: Load up your save and you should be good to go!

Thank You! This seems to have worked.

I also found the Keyword "Trader Ships" with a "space" in my save file and deleted it. Do you know if that was actually a part of the Base game/royalty/ideology or another piece of this mod?

I believe it was part of the mod. If you are concerned it wasn't, you can validate your game files.

Doesnt work for me, no instance of "tradership" in any form or variation can be found in my savefile. Still getting black screen of death upon loading the save. I did notice however than any UI element that utilizes the zone manager is completely broken, so i assume that removing the mod breaks the game's zone manager.

To whoever good samaritan made this guide, you just saved my 20+ hours playthrough and I couldn't possibly be more greatful. Who'd think such an insignificant mod would overhaul so much and break an entire game. Thanks a million! God bless you!

Why are people removing this mod mid-playthrough? Generally, you don't remove mods you add to your save file. That's just general across all mods. If this method works, great. Just wondering why yall need to in the first place. Never had issues with it.
