On "Components now add to cost"
This change makes sense, but it wrecks the economy.
I don't think I can pay 60 alloys for every mining station.
It'd be cool if there were some cheaper (and low performance) equipment for the civilian ships. Like I don't need 140 power on a mining station, I could do with say 10 and a tenth of the alloy cost.
I like the option for expensive, heavily fortified variants, but having some cheap (defenseless) variants would be cool. If I unequip all optional equipment, the mining station can't get below 20 alloy costs, as-is.

I totally understand! I’m planning on tweaking it because it appears to adversely affect the AI as well. Lol whoops.

I will look at making some cheaper variants. I would have to create them myself since the only tech and components added from this mod are the transport armies and some modules.

All the weapons and whatnot come from NSC and mods that add in new modules, etc. I do know that mid - late game an empire is able to afford the costs. Currently running through a playthrough myself and I’m in the late game stages now.

But like I said, I’ve noticed the AI is also taking a hit. In the morning I’ll push a hotfix out that temporarily removes the components add to cost option so both players and ai alike won’t be taking an economic hit. In the meantime, I’ll work on fine tuning the components with my own sets.

I have temporarily removed that modifier. I'm working on designing my own components for this.
